  • 1. Graphics disappear or display incorrectly
I have a problem where images and graphics don't display correctly in the normal view or disappear. Placeholders are disabled I am running Office XP SP2. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  • 2. Wordart not inserting correctly
I have recently started using Word 2002 on my new computer which runs on Windows XP. I am trying to use Wordart which seems to work fine until it's on the screen. It appears only as an image, and not as a graphic which I can reshape, turn, spin etc. What am I doing wrong or are my settings wrong somehow? Laura TD
  • 3. Word2000 doesn't link EPS files properly anymore (SR3 bug?)
Hi, I normally link graphics as EPS files into word documents, but for some unknown reason this doesn't work anymore. Word shows this weird behaviour since some 'windows update' or 'office update'. Word now always wants to 'convert' the EPS files, instead of just linking them and showing the embedded preview. Also, the linked files are not displayed properly anymore if I open an old file and update the fields. Thanks for your help Pascal I do definitely want to link the EPS files as they are since this is the best method to print them exactly as they are and also to be able to modify them externally.
  • 4. Cannot delete line
Hello All I had created a line by pressing the underline key 3 times, then return. Now I need to delete this line, but it won't go. I can delete everything from the line above the mystery line to the line below it, but the phantom always returns! What is it? It doesn't seem to be a picture, or a series of underlines, or hyphens, or anything else I can understand: but it's got to go. Please help if you can - retyping the document is not an option! Many thanks Les.

I do not understand when I draw a line or other (arrows,
call out, etc), it does not hold (I end up with two little
squares. This happens on one docuement only. I tried
saying it with another name. Same result.

However, do not have a problem with a new docuement.

I notice in the doc in which I am having this problem that
the Drawing Bar has all symbols for drawing "grayed out"

Please help so I can meet this dead line.

Thanks

1.drawing a simple line without the drawing box

At work, I was recently upgraded to Word 2002. With the prior version, I was able to use the line draw feature to add lines within my text to point out things and break up data. Now in Word 2002 when I try to draw a line I'm getting the dreadful "Create your drawing here" box. I don't want to create a drawing I just want to add a simple line. I know I can add a horizonal line but I want to place a line precisely at particular place, like I used to. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

4.Lining a drawn Line up with text

If I make a form and after an entry there is a line above which someone would
print (ie. NAME ______) what is the best tool to use so that the line is even
with the bottom of the preceeding text. I've tried to use the Draw Line Tool
and have not been able to nudge it in sufficiently small incraments. Idealy
there would be some tool like the line used for aligning text with the
margin. Even though it would work using a series of underscores after the
text seems sloppy. Thanks in advance.
