  • 1. Visio via Citrix Metaframe client - .vsd files not recognised as Visio files/objects and can not be inserted as Microsoft Visio Drawing object
Dear reader, I hope you may be able to assist me with the following: A user in my company would like to be able to insert a Microsoft Visio Drawing into a Word document, as a Microsoft Visio Drawing object, in order to be able to right-click this and select "Visio Object -> Edit/Open" within the document. Having Visio locally installed on the PC, this works as designed. To save a little on licensing, we're running Visio via Citrix Metaframe client but we have Visio Viewer locally installed to support at least viewing of visio files even without Citrix. I.e. the VSD file format is registered to IE. Hence I see two challanges: 1. How to register VSD with Visio via Citrix and 2. How to make Word recognise VSD to be a Visio Drawing Object and to edit/open such into Visio via Citrix (1.) I have posted the issue in the following newsgroups: microsoft.public.visio microsoft.public.visio.general microsoft.public.visio.troubleshoot microsoft.public.word.drawing.graphics as well as to Citrix Systems Inc. Kind regards, Soren Mikkelsen Switzerland * Keep it simple *
  • 2. Wordart not functioning properly
When I go to create a wordart object of, for example, my name, and choose the fill effect i want, all that appears is a blank wordart object with the six resize marks around it. I thought to begin with that the line and fill colours may be set to white so I tried to change them by going to format wordart on the right click menu. However the format wordart option is ghosted out and therefore i a out of ideas. Any help on this matter is greatly apprectiated. James.

My sysem at work was recently upgraded with Office 2000 to Office 2003. Now I find that when I print a Word document containing two small graphics, the graphics are printed with a light gray background rather than the correct transparent background. The document appears correctly when viewed. The document printed correctly from Word 2000. The operating system (Win2K) and printer are unchanged. How can I fix this? -- Gary L. 1.Save Pic in Word Doc as .jpg

One of our Senior Group members here has ask me how he can say a picture in
a Word Document as a .jpg.

He has sent me an email with an attachment which has a .doc extension which
I can open with Word, there are a number of pictures in the file but I can't
find a simple way to convert the pictures to a .jpg.

The only way that I can do this is to send the file to myself via email and
then right click on the picture, select 'Save Picture As' which only give me
the two options of .gif or .bmp, so I save as .gif and then rename to .jpg.

I know that this is not the right way to do it so I would really appreciate
some advice on this so as to advise our member.

Right click on the picture in Word does not give me the option to save the
picture as anything.

Thank you.

4.Save 1/2 page word document to jpg and pdf

I have a 1/2 page word document. I've used page setup to change the size of
the document to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 instead of 8 1/2 x 11. I'm using the print
option and I'm using PDF Creator as the printer. When it saves the document
as a pdf or jpg file it's saving it as a full page and not 1/2 a page
document or picture. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem either
using PDF Creater or another solution all together? Thank you for your help
and time.
