  • 1. Can't format "Layout" of a picture
I am making a doc that has several pasted images from differnet sources. Some of the pictures have everything available, but a few won't let me do anything on the layout tab. I am trying to arrange it so that the footer appears 'through' the picture. The picture is a scanned page from a workbook that i have laid out to cover the entire Word page. It started as a pdf scan, then I used a program to convert it to Word. But I did this for all the pictures, so I don't know what is different with these. It has worked on many, but not all, and I can't figure out what the setting is that is different between them, except this layout tab. I don't know if the offending pictures are in a layout or not, there is no indication I can find to show if they are in line, square, behind etc. I can't access the advanced button on these either.

  • 5. Duplicating Graphic Objects
Win XP Pro Word 2002 SP3 In text mode, Ctrl+D invokes the Format Font menu. In graphics mode, i.e. with a graphic selected that was created using the tools on the Draw toolbar, Ctrl+D will duplicate the graphic, offsetting the duplicate by a fixed distance in a south-easterly direction. Is there any way one can adjust the offset distance and direction? Also, rotating a graphic by its rotating handle (the line with the green circle on its end) while holding down the Ctrl key, rotates the graphic with the opposite node (handle) as centre point. Is there any way one can rotate around any of the other 7 nodes?

new text boxes added other text boxes 'blink' can't select new

MS Word 2007, XP
Making a work instruction procedure.
Inserted, cropped, and aligned pictures.
Now adding text boxes:
Inserted first Text Box, formatted, and aligned.
When additional (and subsequent) text boxes are inserted, the first or
previous text block starts 'blinking'. Both the new text box and the
previous show as being selected (i.e. blue outline around the both boxes are
active). But the previous text box outline is 'blinking'. Under Text Box
Tools Format tab, Size selection boxes are blinking as well as Create Link
under Text (Break Link can not be selected). I can scroll down to the next
box, but when I stop scrolling, it 'jumps back' to the blinking box.
Clicking in the document 'turns off' both the blinking box and the new box.
Then when I try to select the new box, it starts all over again and 'jumps
back' to the previous blinking box. Driving me crazy!!

5.Macro to add new page and text boxes.

I have a 1 page document with 5 text boxes on it. If the user of the
document needs more then the allocated 5 text boxes I would like to
have a way for them to add a new text box on a new page. What would be
the best way to implement this? I have been trying to find example
macros similar to what I want to do with no luck.

Thanks,

Chad
