In Word 2003 I perform a MailMerge to a new document and save the new document. An access database is the data source, which I perform a query to filter one record for the MailMerge. Here's the problem: when I reopen the new document it prompts if I want to open the database. How can I avoid this?

I have a merge primary document with columns. I have set the formatting in the header to continue from previous section for my page numbers. e.g. 1 of 4. It works fine in my primary document if I add pages...however, when I merge the document, the header is reset to "restart numbering at 1". I dont' want that!!! Please advise.
  • 3. Macro for a Table in a MailMerge
I need a macro that will create a table in a mail merge document. Right now, I have 4 columns, first name, last name, address and state. Each column has a reference i.e. <<First Name>> LastName>> <<Address>> <<State>>. For every new record I need a new row with gridlines to appear i.e. a table. <<First Name>> LastName>> <<Address>> <<State>> Laura Kim 2 Avenue NY John Tell 3 Street NJ FYI: I cannot use the catalog merge for this project and I'm a beginner VBA user so please explain step by step. MDE and Mail Merging w/ Word

Postby VGF0YWthdQ » Fri, 11 Nov 2005 01:11:03 GMT

I am using Access 2000 and Windows XP.

I am trying to make a mail merge in Word with an encrypted & secured (via
FAQ steps) MDE. When I try to select the MDE as a data source though,
instead of getting a list of queries and tables to select from, I get
gibberish. It seems to be reading the MDE as straight text, instead of as a
database. I think Word doesn't recognize the encrypted/secured format.

Does anyone know how to mail merge to an MDE, or make Word recognize that
the MDE is a database with tables and queries instead of a 'delimited' text
file of garble?

Thanks!

Nick

3.Mail merge with an .mde access db

Hello!

Is it possible to link a word document to an .mde access database file?

because when I select the datasource, set the password and apply, a file
conversion window appears and ask to select the type of encoding to make the
file readable. and Word just opens the .mde file as a text. This never
happens when I use an .mdb access standard file (but I cannot use this
interpreted (mdb) database)

Thanks for any suggestion

5.word 97 mail merge vs word 2002 mail merge

Hi:

I have mail merge documents which were created in word 97
with data in ascii comma delimited text files using a data
header source to provide field names. When these files
are brought into word 2002, I can't find any reference to
or way to edit the header source. This appeared in the
word 97 mail merge helper, but not in the word 2002
wizard, nor anywhere else. What am I issing?

Thanks
