  • 1. Nothing in Autotext list
After View | Headers & Footers, when I go to the Autotext box and click the drop down arrow, the list is empty. Shouldn't there be a list of things such as "Page x of y" and other similar items? (I'm using Word 2002.) Steve

I'm running Word 2002 SP3 and want to be able to scan a document directly from my scanner to word. It's forcing me to scan 1 page at a time. My scanner has a page feeder... I'd obviously like to use it. Any ideas?
  • 3. IE Favorites Limit?
Is there a limit to the amount of favorites that IE6 can handle We have a user that has around 6Mb of links and folders (containing more folders and links), there are around 1000 links in total. At present the user is encountering problems, by not being able to create new links and or folders Going in as a different user on the same machine, the problem doesn't exist. This leads me to think that IE may have said .. 'enough is enough' ... does anyone know whether this is the case Any information would be gratefully accepted.
  • 4. multiple files
How do I force Word xp to open all files into the same Word window? Every time I open a new document, Word creates a new window for it and shows it in the taskbar. I would like to open one window and have all documents open into this one window. Thanks in advance for the help. This is truly annoying to me.

"dialog box open"

When I attempt to double click on a Word file to open it from a directory on
the computer I get a message "dialog box is open click here to close". If I
first open Word and then search for the Word document file and open that the
same file I do not get the message. I do not get this message performing the
same process on my other computer, which also used Word 2003. This is
annoying. How do I stop the problem.

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See
 http://www.**--****.com/ "How to use Office
programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for more
information.

Garfield:
Thanks for the help. This works, but considering the risk I think I will put
up with the inconvienance of the popup.

I have a user that uses Mail Merge to fill out various forms from a table of

is opened. I've checked 'Options', etc., but can't locate when this
'notification' is selected at.

Can anyone tell me how to turn it off?

4.Strange dialog box opens when I click on new mail

I just upgraded my office systems to the latest updates on microsoft's site.
Now, when anyone hits the New Mail button in Outlook they get a dialog box
that says:

"A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook.
Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you
should choose NO."
There is a selection to Allow access for 1 - 10 minutes and a Yes, No, &
Help Button

The big question is how to stop this coming up every time someone hits New
Mail?
