  • 2. where does word hide the autorecover file?
Hi, I had to go out of town, but never got an answer to this question so please forgive me for repeating it, in case someone has an idea: In Word 2002, when I set autorecover to do backups every three or so minutes, I cannot find the autorecover file after the alloted time while I am still IN Word 2002. Under file locations I set autorecover files to c:\, but there is no autorecover file there in c:\ while I am still in Word? I use the file open menu to find it, with all file types seleted (so no hidden files) but no autorecover file appears in c:\? Any ideas, on how to find where is might be or if it exists?? thanks.
  • 3. "Pages" Property in Explorer "Details" View
In Explorer, when using the "Details" view of files, you can choose which fields are shown. I would like it to show how many pages each document is, so I chose to show "Pages" as one of the fields. The problem is that Explorer is telling me that every document is 1 page. It doesn't seem to be reflecting the actual length of the documents. Is this a bug, or am I missing something? I do regularly turn on/off document protection for the files as I work on them. Might that be causing a problem? I'm using Office 2003, and XP Home SP1 (haven't taken the dive yet). Thanks for any hints. -- ICQ#
  • 4. Word 2002,97 do not chech footnote spelling?
Just verifying. I see that Word 2002 and my older Word 97 do not check spelling in footnotes and endnotes. I've not found anything in Tools/options or anything anywhere else that turns in on. Is this correct? TIA
  • 5. EndNote and Word 2003
Hello, I use Thomson Researchsoft's EndNote 7 along with Word 2003. Whenever Word is loading there is a message at the bottom of the screen, "Running virus scan..." It causes a delay in Word fully loading. Others on the EndNote listserv have commented on this problem citing it as related to EndNote; but none seem to have been able to find a solution through that listserv nor from the EndNote tech support folks. I have had a similar experience with the EndNote tech support folks re: this issue. So ... I'm trying this appeal to Word users. Are there other EndNote/Word users here who experience this problem? If so, is there a solution? Or is it simply something with which we have to live? Thanks much! -- "Live long and prosper!"

When I recently updated Office XP, I lost the ability to
select paragraphs, characters, and tables formatted with a
specific style. I used to right click on the style in the
styles and formatting box (I don't know what you call it).
It used to tell me how many times that style was used
throughout the document. Now it ALWAYS says "Select all:
style not used." This even occurs when the only style is
Normal and Everything uses it. HELP!
