  • 1. Using Excel Functions in VBA Word
Hi, I need to parse a directory path provided as input in order to make the directories included in the string. I'm looking for a string function in Word that could do this but haven't discovered one. I know I can do this in Excel using the find function. Can I use the Excel Find function in Word? I believe i've done this in the past but can't recall how. Failing that, does someone have another suggest in terms of the approach?

Hi, I need to scroll the windowpane where I'm working positioning the to left corner of the line where a given range begins at it top left corner. Aditionally, I would need to verify if the bottom of the last line in the same range is visible in the screen, and if not, to zoom the window pane until the whole range is visible. I was looking for the ActiveWindow.ActivePane properties but I couldn't find anything to handle this. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. Pablo Cardellino

Formatting for merge fields

Postby Jason » Wed, 06 Aug 2003 06:43:35 GMT

Is there anyway to format specific merge fields so that
they can have dashes, decimal points or dollar signs in
appropriate places? I have a user that merges a bunch of
informtion into several merge fields and I want only
certain fields to have dashes, certain fields to have
dollar signs and decimal points and so on.

TIA,
Jason

Doug,

Thanks. This solves most of my dilemna, but I am still
having problems with text inserted from the userform into
bookmarked locations. I am having problems getting a
phone number entered like this: 2225551212, and getting it
to appear in the document as 222-555-1212.

The following displays the code I have for it thus far.
Right now it's generating extra numbers.

.Bookmarks("contactfax").Range.InsertBefore TextBox11
.Bookmarks("contactfax").Range = Format(TextBox11, "###-
###-####")

I think I just have the format incorrect. Any help here?

TIA,
Jason

I am using Excel & Word 2003. I have tried to format the merge fields in my
document without success. For example, I want the date to read 1 December
2007. After I press Alt+F9, my 'date' field is as follows : { MERGEFIELD

5.US date format in merge field

Hello, I am trying to sort out a problem for my sister, we live in the UK,
and her regional settings are configured to display dates as British dates
(dd/mm/yyyy). She is doing a mail merge from an Access table, the table has
some dates in a date/time field (which display correctly in British date
format). The mail merge all works correctly except that when they come into
Word, the dates are switched to US date format (mm/dd/yyyy). Dates normally
display correctly on her machine, and I can't see any way to change it in
this mail-merge.

Any Ideas? Please?
