I have tried in vain to move my old autotext entries from Word 2003 to Word 2007 following advice MVP Beth Melton gave on 1/2/2007 to a question by Mike Kuch: renaming the old Normal.dot to AutoText.dot and placing it into user App.Data Roaming Microsoft DocumentBuildingBlock 1031. Then I have moved BuildingBlocks.dotx out of this folder, so that there is only one folder left in the 1031, namely Autotext.dot (which is the renamed file from normal.dot from Office XP). It doesn work with me. To give an example, I write in Word 2007 NYT and add F3, there will be no reaction, where under Word 2003 it would roduce "New York Times". Where is my fault? I would be grateful for help. XXXX@XXXXX.COM

Whenever someone sends me an email with PPS Slide Show, the sounds starts to play, then a message comes up for me to cancel or convert by buying a key. Is it necessary for me to buy a key when the only thing I want to be able to do is hear the sound with the slide show. The slide show will work fine but I have no sound.

  • 4. Trying to install an IME (input method editor) for Chinese
I am really frustrated. I have re-installed Office several times (not recently). My daughter attended Indiana University and purchased Office XP and installed it on our home computer. Now I am trying to enable Chinese in Word. Microsoft's insructions tell me to run the Office Tool. Every time I do, it says, "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." And it had the nerve to tell me this RIGHT AFTER I RAN OFFICE'S DETECT AND REPAIR. I'm so frustrated. Can anyone help?
  • 5. How to move back and forth in large documents?
After confident use of Office 2003 for editing long documents and Master document I find there is little or no help on this in Office 2007. I am puzzled as to how poor the search for help is in returning relevant information. Searches for advice on moving around long documents produce 100 items of mostly irrelevant information, or unhelpful suggestions about scrolling. Although both a Forward and Back button appear to exist they don't actually seem to work. Does anyone have suggestions about how to make this easier?

I am trying to receive faxes in the microsoft fax console through a fax
machine: connections: fax/phone line to the faxmachine then USB cable to the
computer. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance!

Ask in a group that supports the fax program for your operating system, not
in an Office group.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Axel asked:

I've added my old personal folders to Outlook 2003 which contain a huge

I've just upgraded pc & system to Windows XP. What can I do to view these
faxes, or at least quickly archive to a readable format.

I am trying to send Word 2003 document to fax recipient using a fax modem in

The Fax Wizard in Word 2003 correctly creates the fax, using Microsoft Fax
as the fax program.

The Send Fax Wizard opens.
I enter the name and number and click Finish.
The Fax Monitor opens and dials, but after a connection is established,
sends a message n error occurred while sending the fax

Why am I getting this error message?
