PROBLEM: We are upgrading users to Windows XP from NTWS 4.0, but are leaving them running Office 97 (because we haven't purchased any licenses for Office upgrades). This causes a serious problem with our VB 6.0 programs that attempt to create Excel objects. They now give error "-2147417851" when trying to do a "Workbooks.Add". This problem seems to affect only the Windows XP / Office 97 combination, because NTWS 4.0 / Office 97 works fine when creating Excel objects. Furthermore, installing an Office 2000 upgrading fixes the problem. Because our site isn't going to purchase Office upgrades how can we get around this problem? Applying an Office 2000 upgrade fixes it, but we aren't permitted to go that way. Is there any other solution? Thanks in advance, Tom Edelbrok

I was working in Photoshop and I believe I had the AltControl keys depresed for more than eight seconds. A pop up mesage asked me whether I wanted "filters" to do X or Y. I tried to respond in such a way as to not change anything. The result is that I can no longer get my computer to acept a double key stroke whether it is a leter or two spaces or even two strokes of the delete key. And here is a separate problem. I have the number "4" in the uper right quadrant of every scren in every windows program. Solve either problem and I wil believe in the power of many.

I have the trial version of MS Office Pro 2003, and have purchased the
software (on line). The trial version has expired, and I don't yet have the
new software. I have an important document that I created in Publisher
(thinking I would be finished with it before the trial expiration). Please
tell me if there is a way to retrieve this document so I can edit it.

The document is still on your computer but until you have functional
software there's nothing you can do.

2.OCR software in sixty day trial version of M/S Word 2007

I have been trying to scan a document from a HP #6180 All-In-One Printer into
Microsoft Word 2007 (sixty day trial version). It does scan but the viewed
document is unreadable and cannot be edited. My question is this, if anyone
can help? Does the 60 day version of M/S Word recognize OCR or is it left
out for only the full version. Perhaps, the printer does not have OCR
software, I do not know where it is generated from. Any help would be
greatly appreciated...
