  • 1. .docx will not open, even with Office 2007 installed.
    I had posted this previously, where I could not open .docx files received in Outlook email on a computer that already has Office 2007 on it. I have now found out that if I first download the .docx file email attachment to the local drive, and rename the .docx extension on the filename to .doc, then it opens just fine. And while this gets the file to open, I cannot be asking the user to this involved procedure for every .docx he receives (it is the CEO and he just wants the file to open when double-clicking it in the email---just like other files). I am running Office 2007 with all the latest updates. Can anyone advise on how to fix this? I have two computers-both running XP and Office 2007--that are now doing this.

    I just bought a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 along with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007; however, I just realized...I have no cd drive to install it? I have been unsuccessful moving it to a USB flash drive and then to the laptop. Help?

  As I do a great deal of printing text only,I find my ink 
jet printer gets expensive !I have tried to install a Star 
micronics dot matrix  Model NX-1000 using windows 98 
wizard. At the point where it asks for the printer name 
and driver ,I enter "A" where I have the proper driver 
from Star Micronics, but the wizard tell me that it does 
not contain any info for that printer ! I tried using the 
generic driver with the same results ! Any suggestions ??

Hi.
You might have an outdated printer driver on your 
diskette. Please see this page —

It will give you information on your printer and also has 
options for downloading the necessary printer drivers.

One suggestion, try posting this in a group that covers the Star Dot Matrix
Printer.  This question is off-topic for the Microsoft Office group.

Hi,
How do i introduce different paper sizes such as 15x12 or 10x12 continuous 
paper to print on a dot matrix printer attached to my computer. i am having 
windows xp professional o/s. I need to print long sized reports on the dot 
matrix printer such as Panasonic KX- P3626/ TVS MSP 355 classic. Please

printing just 1 label on a dot matrix printer and not send the rest of the 8 
or 10 labels on that sheet up thru the printer, and stop at the first one on 
the next sheet on the roll of labels. I did it with my old laptop with
