  • 1. change toolbar language
    I have Office 2003 and am trying to change the language for toolbars etc. I have looked on Office help and it suggests: In Microsoft Windows XP, on the Windows Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings. I have done this and the language is still in English - any suggestions? Many thanks Sue :)
  • 2. Formatting Problem.
    Hi. My sister-in-law called me to solve a problem she had with a document she was writing. About half way through the document the words at the end of a line started splitting between lines, rather than moving completely to the next line as normal. I have tried everything, but cannot get it to revert to normal. I have a feeling she pressed ctrl-shift and something else as she has done this before. One other thing, the font also changed and if I try to change it back it changes to a series of squares. Any ideas. Mossie
  • 3. office 2007selection locked??? what does it mean
    I have the OEM version of office small business therefore no disc!!!! word excel etc have stopped functioning, telling me I can't modify as the selection is locked , I can't unlock it but In safe mode it tells me its already activated but I can't even get the activation wizard up or any message in normal mode?? please can someone help me?? sdh
  • 4. After the 2007 trial, if I'm not happy, can I go back to Office X.
    I'm interested in trying out the new Office XP Professional edition. Currently, I have Office XP (2002) loaded. If I'm not happy with the trial version, or if I don't find it worth upgrading from XP, would I be able to revert back to my original Office XP?

I am using Office 2003 professional.  When I am previewing a document in 
Excel or Access, the page settings for margins are in metric rather than 
inches.  MSWord settings are in inches, so this is only effecting Access and 
Excel.

How can I change the margin and page settings back to inches from mm and cm?

Hi Dudley,

In the Windows (XP) control panel, Regional & Language Options,
check the[Customize] settings on the 'Regional Options' tab to
see if the 'Measurment System' for 'Numbers' is set to U.S. or metric.

Thanks, Bob.  That fixed the problem.  I looked at the regional & languages 
options, but never clicked the customize button.

Appreciate your help, and our IT helpdesk guy says thanks too.

Hi Bob,
I'm using Office 2007, on Vista, and I'm having the same problems on all 
office programs, i tried going into control panel and chaning the region but 
it did not help.
Is there any other way?

Ashamedly, as a Canadian, I prefer 'inches' when setting margins in documents. I have noted OFFICE 2008 uses metric [centimeters].
