no,
The file format changed with Outlook 2003 and is not backwards compatible.

You will need to open the file in Outlook 2003 and then export it to a new
.pst file in the 97-2002 format. Once you have done that, open the file
using File->Open.

1.Problem Importing Outlook 2000 PST file into Outlook 2003
I'm replacing a Pc running XP and Office 2000 with a new pc running XP and
Office 2003. The install went fine. When I imported the PST file into outlook
2003, I wanted to replace the original set of folders outlook came with.
Instead it gave me two sets of folders: the basis set that came with outlook
and my set that included all the folders from my old Pc.
I tried uninstalling Office, reinstalling it and adding a new PST file, but
it still has two sets of folders. How do I modify it so I only have my
original set of folders in Outlook 2003?
Thanks,

2.convert outlook 2003 pst file to outlook 2000 pst file
Hi all
I have a little a problem and would appreciate any advice.
I uninstalled outlook 2003 and reinstalled outlook 2000. At the time I
uninstalled outlook 2003, I did not convert the pst file to the outlook 2000
format. On my pc is currently outlook 2000 but I am unable to import the pst
file which is in outlook 2003 format. Any ideas how I can convert .pst file
into a format which can be imported into outlook 2000 without reinstalling
outlook 2003?
Many thanks

3.Outlook 2000 pst file corrupt from importing Outlook 2003 pst file
I am running Outlook 2000 and made the mistake of trying to import an Outlook
2003 pst file into my personal folder. Got the about half way thru the import
process and I got an error msg that the file is corrupt and it will no longer
open. I ran the scanpst.exe. It takes a couple of hours to scan but when 99
PCT complete it failed and posted an error log. I need the data out of this
file desperately. Is there any solution?
4.Can Outlook 2003 co-exist with Word 2000, AND, corrupt .pst file
I am running Office 2000 under Windows XP Pro. I actually own Office
2007 but find Word 2007 so difficult I don't want to upgrade.
My .pst file in Outlook 2000 grew to over 2 GB and became corrupted.
It seems that Stellar Phoenix Outlook PST repair software offers the
best bet in repairing my pst file, but their tech support people told
me the recovered file needs to be used in Outlook 2003.
Question - can Outlook 2003 run in the same machine with the other
Office 2000 programs? I'd want to replace Outlook 2000 with Outlook
2003, but keep the rest of the suite.
Thanks for ANY help and suggestions.
