I uninstalled office 2003 student version with idea that I could reinstall and correct issues it was having. I tried to reinstall and installation exits while installing. Not an error code, just sorry it can't be installed. The install takes the license key and validates fine.

I've been getting offers for the student & home edition at ridiculously low prices these days. It reminds me end-of-life-cycle campaigns of other products in the past.
  • 3. Recent Documents in File menu Disappears after a PC re-boot
The recent Documents menu in either Excel 2007, Word 2007, Powerpoint 2007 and others softwares disappears after I re-start my PC, everytime. I use VISTA home edition. A few weeks ago I did a clean re-install of Vista and Office 2007, everything works blazing fast and well, except for the purplexing recent documents that never keeps my recent files when I re-start my PC. I have also noticed that if I change the "Show this number of recent documents" in the Advanced tab under the Excel options it resets to 17 everytime, as well. Therefore How can i have recent documents functioning properly and how can I change the number 17 to any number of files I want? thanks in advance

1.Office 2000 SP3 Twilight Zone

FYI - I am running 98SE and IE5.5, both with all current
updates.

Problem:
I went to update Office 2000 to SP3. It told me it was
successful, but when I go back through the "check for
updates" process, it still tells me I need SP3.

I then (as it seemed) downloaded the full update file
(~12MB) and tried clicking on that, but it told me I
already have it, so it won't install!

I've downloaded some security updates, but how can I
ensure I've got the full SP3 update, AND get the Office
Update site to recognize it??

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

2.Envelope Formatting/Printing Twilight Zone

After loading Jaguar envelopes will not print properly on an HP Laserjet
4M+. The envelope either prints on 8-1/2x11 paper, won't print at all, or
prints in a clockwise rotation when I have selected counterclockwise
rotation and will not self feed through the printer like it used to. Any
suggestions?

3.Twilight Zone: Word disappears on minimize and other strangeness

All,

I support a user who tells me that her Word program "disappears" when she
minimizes the window. In other words, she cannot get back to it. I have
never been able to duplicate this issue, but I was wondering if anyone else
ever heard of such a thing happening. It's a WinXP Pro box with only Office
Suite on it. She's got some macros she built herself (for turning on Red
Bolds, etc. Nothing drastic and nothing downloaded).

The other strangeness I speak of is the fact that she's got a toolbar
several rows deep, something like 6. She keeps complaining that they get
re-arranged randomly. In addition, sometimes, on the occasion her Word
window doesn't disappear after minimize, it doesn't maximize to the window
size it was at before minimize. She has to manually resize the window. Any
idea what's going on here?

I'd appreciate any help! Thanks.

4.ARCHIVE TWILIGHT ZONE

I have 6 pc's that all have Outlook 2002(SP2) on them. 2
Are Win2K and 4 are XP os. On the XP pc's the archive
function of Outlook doesn't work properly. There is no
error message given at the end of the archive process and
it appears all is well until you realize there are still
emails that are more than 3 months old in the folder you
just archived(archive settings on all of the pc's is 3
months).

The pc's are in a Lan configuration with a Win2k sever
running Exchange amongst other things but I don't think
that's the problem. I think it must be something XP
related. I can't find anything in MS Knowledgebase.

Has anyone seen this before? Any help would be much
appreciated.

Thanks,
Lisa

5.The Twilight Zone

I have a form with subform. When the subform is in
datasheet mode all is well. However, when it is in
continuous form mode, I enter the MS Access 2002 Twilight
Zone by performing the following steps:
1. Search for a record on the main form using a wizard-
created combo box.
2. Attempt to update the data in any bound control (on
the main form).
This causes Access to blow up and offers to send an error
message to Microsoft. Anyone know why? If it's any
help, this is a .ADP.
