After reloading Office XP Professional twice and finding that it says that it is already activated, but when I try to download WorldLingo the activation verification says that it is not activated, I am asking how do we activate the office program in our PC so that the Windows web site will recognize it? The computer says that it is activated and Microsoft says that it is not. Removing Office and re-installing did not correct the problem.

It says you can install the Student and Teacher Version
of Office 2003 on up to 3 computers in your home. How do
you do it if you only have one product key?

Hi Jan,

The product key isn't checked during installation
as far as 'tracking' how many computers you've installed
on, that's part of the telephone or online activation
procedure.

I realize you can install as many times as you want to
but it has to be activated in order to use it more than
the specified times allowed. In the past, we couldn't
install the S & T version on more than one computer. The
package says you can install this 2003 version on up to 3
computers in your home. I am worried about the
activation because if it won't activate with the same
product key, I'll have to uninstall it. I can't find any
information on the MS sites except about the regular
office versions being installed and activated on a
desktop and a laptop. Any information will be
appreciated. Jan

2.how to install 2008 version bypassing old version of word on new computer

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Hello,

I bought a new iMac recently along with Word for Mac 2008 upgrade. The word software stated that an older version must pre-exisit on the computer for the new version to be install. My older versions are 'Word 2004 upgrade', 'Word X upgrade' then finally 'Word 2001'. Do I need to install all the old softwares in sequential order so I can install the Mac 2008 upgrade (and then delete the older versions later)? Incidentally, my 'Word X upgrade' and 'Word 2001' are registered with Microsoft, but 'Word 2004' upgrade is purchased right before my previous Mac died so I did not get a chance to register Word 2004 upgrade.

Thanks for any input or advice,

George
