If there is a version for Word 97, I would like to know where I need to go to download it. Thanks, L R Adams
  • 4. Office XP Programs bomb in WinXp
Several programs in Office (Word, Excel) blow up in Win XP with no error message. Program just closes. This also happens, sometimes, with other programs, such as IE 6+ & Quickbooks Premier, for instance. I am suspicious of Memory problems, as that's the last thing that I've done to the machine (IBM NetVista). I upgraded to the max Memory (2Gig). I had similar problems with generic memory; and then switched to IBM speced Memory; but I am having the same problems. The memory checks out with several diagnotic programs suggested by the Microsoft community site. I do not have this problem when I limit Memory to 1.5gig. Any ideas?

Booking Sheet on Intranet using Excel, Word..etc

Postby YXpuYW4 » Thu, 08 Feb 2007 11:50:00 GMT

Hi, we're running Windows 2000 Server with AD Domain authentication and we're
hosting our intranet using a Windows 2003 Server (created and maintaining the
intranet using Frontpage)

We want to have a simple bus booking sheet on our Intranet, where user can
APPEND their bookings, but CANNOT DELETE EXISTING bookings and we would like
to put the link to this file on our Intranet web page.

Is this possible with Excel, Word, or Access.

Please help or advise.

install the free Windows SharePoint Services extensions and create a
separate web on the intranet and upload the sheets using excel...you should
be able to set up permissions correctly.

1.Read/Write summary properties(Author, Title, etc) of each file (not only word/excel etc)

Hi all,

I need to read and write the summary properties of a file (eg txt,
jpg, dwg). Each file has these properties. I allready use dsofile.dll
for the ole objects files but it doesn't work for txt and other
formats.
Is there some dll or something that I can use to get and set the
information on the file.
I prefer to use something in java, second option is vba/vbe/vbw.
At the moment the only way I know is to read the headers for each
type(so I need to decode each file myself).

2.Can't display excel sheet within Word (EMBED Excel.Sheet.8)

Instead of displaying the excel sheet inserted in Word, "EMBED Excel.Sheet.8"
is displayed which, when it is clicked, brings-up Excel in a separate window.
I had this issue once before but it was resolved by turning-off the office
plug-in in NIS. Does anyone have any clues?

4.Export Entire Excel Sheet with headers, footers, etc, to Word

I have an Excel macro that creates a sheet in Excel exactly as I want
it to appear. I need to export it to Word (client wishes). I have
been able to export the sheet contents to Word automatically, but not
the headers and footers like they appear in the Print Preview. Does
anyone know how to do this?

5.Add numbers to a Excel sheet From MS Word doc using VBA

I have macros in my MS Word to assist in marking essay's by inserting
standard comments to the documents (with buttons in the menue bar).
I would like to have a graph automatically update as I run these
macros.
Therefore I need to either link to an excel sheet and insert numbers
into the Excel sheet by using "MS Word macro's", or i need to be able
to change an embedded sheet with macros in word.

Hope all that makes sense

Can someone please help
