  • 5. Incompatibility Message at installation
    I have Microsoft Office 97 and a version of Office that came installed on my computer at purchase (version unknown). I loaded Office 97 on my computer with no problem, but when attempting to install it on my son's computer, I got the message "Windows/System32/Autoexec.NT is not compatible for MS Dos or Microsoft products" (not the exact phrase, but something close to that). I have Windows XP on both computers with service pack2 on mine, but not on my son's computer. I also attempted to load the version of Microsoft Office that came with my Dell computer (Dimension 9300), on my son't computer (Dimension 2300) but got the same message. What is the problem? It gives me a box with two button choices (one to close the program and another to ignore) but clicking on either button does absolutely nothing and the program won't install. Help please???

Is there any way to delete a POP3 I_Mail account via PRF file import. I
have tried using the Custom Maintenence Wizard and saw an option to
remove Microsoft Mail and Lotus Notes services near the last few steps.
We are currently migrating from POP3 to Exchange 2003 and I am trying to
remove the POP3 account from Outlook and add the Exchange configuration
via .prf . The exchange configuration works great but so far have been
unsuccessful at removing the pop3 account. I've tried the [Service
Removal] option and have tried specifying on the line below the option
"POP3=" "I_MAIL=" and "MSFM=" I've also tried [Account Removal] and
moved the option to section 5. Still no go. Any help is appreciated.

3.automate removal of pop3 email account 

I have 150 users using office xp.  I have had our email hosted, but now it is being delivered to our exchange server.  all of the users have exchange mail box setup on thier outlook profile.  now they all have an old pop3 email account.  Can I use group policy to delete the old pop3 account from all of the outlook profiles?  Please help.

Correct-

Exchange Server 2003.  Again, the weird part is any new AD users created, 
and mail enabling them, can POP no problem with OE6.  I was thinking and the 
only difference is the existing users were created (mailboxes too) when I did 
not have the POP3 service running.  Last week I started the process and any 
new users can POP, but old (exisiting users cannot).

to exchange through outlook express 6.

The new users Exchange Alias are set to the AD logon name.  The existing 
users Exchange Alias are set to the email address name, however when changed 
to AD logon name they still cannot connect in OE6.

For instance New User ( Joe Black)

AD logon name = jblack
Exchange Alias = jblack

Existing User ( Mary Black)
Email Address = mary@"company".com
AD logon name = mblack
Exchange Alias = mary

Logon using Secure Password Authentication is checked on OE client for all
