  • 4. A new laptop I've purchased...
I have on this laptop Windows XP, at the time of purchase I also invested in MS Office 2000 (Prof. Ed.). Unfortunately, when loading the CD into my CD drive the application gets half way before a prompt box appears notifying me 'Error 1305. Error reading from file: C;\WINDOWS\Fonts\BKANT.TTF. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.' I understand the message is related to the font 'Book Antigua' and having done an internal search on the laptop I have found that it is not installed. Can you suggest a way of installing it or even a way of getting around this as the Office 2000, with the basic software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) is not allowing me to continue or install without his font/program being allocated/recognised? If you are unable to advise me, would you please be so kind as to redirect this message to the relevant persons/department who may be able to assist in this matter. Thanking you in advance, with kind regards, Mr Razaul Rahman

Install Access 2000 with Office 2003

Postby Justin » Sat, 12 Jun 2004 00:44:19 GMT

Have a machine that came with an Office 2003 version that
didn't include Access.

I have from a previous machine Office 2000 Small Business
and Office 2000 Professional Upgrade.

Can I install the 2000 version of Access and if so how -
I have tried inserting the 2000 Professional upgrade disk
but it says I don't have any qualifying product installed!

No in-version upgrade (Office 2000 SBE ->Office 2000 Pro) is allowed.

machine, which had Office 2000 including Access.

Now I have a new machine with Office 2003, but not with
Access - can I install the 2000 version of Access to work
alongside Office 2003?

Pro) is allowed.

If it is not an OEM and the upgrade base is neither an OEM version, then the
answer is yes, you can.

According to yr origonal post the disks you have are for the upgrade version
of Office, therefore unless you have a qualifying product, and niether
Office 2K SBE or Office 2003 are qualifying versions, you cannot install.
You will need to 'find' a qualifying disk to insert when yr trying to
install Access 2K

1.Installing Access 2000 with Office 2003 already installed

I have Office 2003 (standard - i.e. no Access 2003)
happily running on my Win XP machine. So, of course, now
I need to work with Access 2000 databases. I do still
have a premium copy of Office 2000.

Is it at all possible to install Access 2000 from Office
2000 without obliterating Office 2003?

2.Installing Access 2000 over Office 2003?

I have been successful in doing that, but you must be sure to use a
different directory for the 2 installs.
The best way to make sure that it works, would be to install Office 2000 and
only install Access into program files\microsoft\office9 (I think it is
office 9) directory. Be sure to do a custom install and load whatever you
think you need, including the shared items.

Then install Office 2003 and again do a custom install again and be sure it
is to ...\...\Office11. Watch for the question about removing prior versions
and make sure your do not unstall the office 2000.

Since everything on your computer is alreade messed up, uninstall both
versions and reinstall like above. I am sure the problems you are having is
from not installing into different directories.

3.Install Access 2000 and Office 2003

I need to install Access 2000 on a system also running Access as part of
Office 2003. I have read that I need to install the 2000 version first. I
removed the 2003 version before installing Access 2000 but get an error
message that:
"Required registry information is missing and this application cannot run.
Please rerun Setup to correct this problem"

I've tried this but it had no effect. What do I need to do next?
