  • 1. Deploying Office 2003 - Can't delete exisiting Office 2000 desktop shortcuts
Hello, We currently have installations of Office 2000 from a shared folder, where we just ran setup for disks 1 and 2 to install them on each computer. I have recently setup an administrative installation point to deploy Office 2003 through a group policy which also uninstalls Office 2000. This all works on my test computer in the test org unit fine. The problem is the installation doesn't delete the existing shortcuts on the desktop for Office 2000, so there are now 2 sets of icons for each app, the older set doesn't work. When I try to delete the shortcuts as the user, I get the following: "Cannot delete Microsoft Access: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." How have you all dealt with this? Do you delete any office shortcuts before deploying office 2003 via a script, and if so how did you identify them? Is there something I can run after installation to remove these? Thanks, Jesse

Office 2007 Professional shipped from US, will it work on UK Windo

Ok, well the title says it all really. I've searched through many eBay
listings to find a genuine seller who can ship me a version of Office 2007
Pro for a decent price. There are many scams going on so I've spent ages
looking for someone who has a lot of positive feedback and little negative.
The thing is, because it's being shipped from the United States I am a little
bit cautious on how the installation will proceed on a UK Windows PC. I don't
know if versions produced in different countries will work on other countries
machines. Because the seller does ship to the UK, I assume the set-up and
installation should proceed smoothly. . . but I need to verify for peace of
mind really.

Office, English language version, is the same for any English speaking
country.
Same applies to windows
Offhand the only English language MS component that is country specific that
I can think of is MS Small Business Accounting and Money (Which is no longer
available in the UK).
Be aware you may be charged duty/vat at the point of delivery, not by the
seller but by UK customs

Hi,

Pre-installed on my new laptop is a 60 day trial of Office 2007
Professional. Now the end of the trial period is approching I was wondering
what the best method is to install the Enterprise version. Should I
uninstall the current version of Office or can I install the Enterprise
version on top of it?

Who has any experience with or advise for this problem?

Thanks in advance,
