  • 2. Reinstall 2003 after HDD failure
I have recently suffered a hard disc failure and reinstalled all my data and programs from a backup. Now when I boot up, I get one box that says that Normal dot is being used by another program or person and do I want to save over the original. This is odd because there's no reason why word should be opening on boot up. Also I get another window on boot up that says that Powerpoint failed to start properly. Again why is it trying to start anyway? This message always appears twice even though I untick the box that asks if I want to retry. Why is this happening?
  • 3. Office Professional 2007
Help! Hard drive crashed. My computer now has an almost new hard drive that came from a networked office (which is now closed); it has office 2003 on it. So I put in my office professional 2007 disks, enter product key, is ok'd, and then I get the following message: "Setup cannot find office.en-us\1033\dwintl20.dll. Browse to a valid installation source." I found some dwintl20.dll files on my hard drive, but when I click OK, it won't accept any. So, it cancels the upgrade installation. Can anyone help? I have looked everywhere on microsoft support, but cannot find this particular problem. Thank you.

I am trying to re-install Office 2007 after a hard drive failure. When I run the setup programme I get the message "Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper has stopped working". Can anyone help me with a way to overcome this?

Can't open old or new files in Office 2003. I suspect the virus scan plug-in with Norton Anti Virus could be the problem but I can't seem to disable it. Any one else seen the same problem?

Since upgrading to Office 2003 I am unable to save Word or Excel files to our
network. The programs just hang when selecting 'Save As' from the 'File'
menu. I can create and save files to the local machine just fine. I have
run the service packs, and also a repair and a reinstall.

Has anyone seen this kind of trouble?

Thanks,
