Install SP2 ONLY for InfoPath 2003

Postby cHM » Sat, 13 May 2006 23:25:01 GMT

Hi

I would like to install SP2 but only for the InfoPath 2003 component of
Office 2003.
Is there a way of doing this?

Hi P.S.,

If you're saying that the only Office 2003 series product installed is Infopath 2003 then you can use the Office 2003 Service Pack 2
(SP2) for updating that product.

There aren't separate Service Packs for the individual apps, nor can you selectively apply the Office SP2 to just one app as it
updates files shared by all of the Office 2003 apps.

Hi Bob

I had already installed Office 2003 but not the InfoPath app. Office SP2 had
also been installed. My problem is when I installed the InfoPath app it does
not have SP2 installed and I need this to be installed. This has to be done
for everyone in my organisation. Is the only way to do this to redeploy SP2?

Hi P.S.,

Unfortunately even though the files for SP2 may already be there the apps installed after the service pack aren't aware of them so
doing a recache would be one way to apply it. The technique used for updating can depend on how you deployed and the update
approach you've chosen.

1.Installing Infopath after installing Office 2003 Professional

Infopath wasn't installed when I first installed Microsoft Office 2003. Can I
now install Infopath separately without having any adverse effect on the

I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks

2.2 separate issues with Infopath 2003 SP2 and Sharepoint 2003

I have this infopath form that works pretty well but I seem to have
issues with publishing the form and data when I'm filling out the
form.
Problem 1. Publishing the form from my desktop to our dev Sharepoint
2003. No errors. The form library is created properly but when I click
on the "Fill out this form" I get an error that the template.xsn is
either invalid or missing.

( I got around this issue by having a system admin publish the form).

Problem 2. Clickint on the "Fill out this form", I enter all the data
and hit submit. No errors. BUT, my form is never uploaded to the form
library. Other users can use this form with no issues.

Additional Info:
I have been given all possible roles in the site that this form
library resides. My guess is that this is a permissioning issue but no
one here seems to know what.

Thanks

5.Possible to install Excel 2003 and InfoPath additionaly to a BTS 2

Hi there,

I already installed a BTS 2006 without Excel 2003 and InfoPath. Now I would
like to us BAS, which needs InfoPath. Is there a possibilty to add InfoPath
to this Installation or would this cause any problems with BTS and in using
BAS? Are there any dependencies which needs InfoPath to be installed before
BTS 2006?

I hope some one can help?
I installed BTS 2006 on Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2005.

Thanks and regards
