  • 1. Office Basic Upgrade Problem
I am trying to upgrade to Office Professional 2003 from Office Basic 2003 however it keeps telling me that a qualifying version could not be found. I inserted the Office Basic CD when prompted however was told that setup still couldn't find a qualifying product. What do I do next???
  • 2. Why is my Office 2003 Pro Product ID Bad?
When I try to get free email support on Office 2003 I eventually get to a point where I have to supply a product id. When I give it the product id I get from Help About it says it is not a valid product id. What gives? Is Microsoft trying to prevent people from using free support so they can make more money?
  • 3. Can not complete Mail Merge to Fax
I am using Outlook and Word 2003. I am trying to complete a Mail Merge with mixed E-mail and Fax recipients using the Merge To E-mail option in Word. The E-mail recipients are being sent correctly, however, the Fax recipients are returning the error shown below. The format I am using for the fax recipient is [fax:xxxxxxxxxx]. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 'xxxxxxxxxx' on 4/29/2004 4:01 PM The message could not be delivered because the recipient's destination email system is unknown or invalid. Please check the address and try again, or contact your system administrator to verify connectivity to the email system of the recipient. < #5.1.2>
  • 4. Office Update Thinks Office 2003 Pro is Office 2000
When I try to use office update it incorrectly identifies my Office 2003 Professional Pro as Office 2000, and only gives me access to Office 2000 updates. Argh!!! Is there anyway to fix this, like a registry tweak?
  • 5. Office XP SP3 on CD-ROM?
*Is Office XP SP3 available from Microsoft on CD-ROM?* It seems like the only way to get the SP is online, through Office Update. But for someone like me with only a 56k dial-up connection, the download will take a VERY, VERY long time. I was able to get Office *2000* SP3 on CD-ROM, so it makes sense to me that the XP version should be available this way, too. Thanks to anyone with an answer to this, and good luck to everyone with their Office problems. Kevin

Word, Excel, Visio - SAVE AS form does not display when Save As is clicked.
Subsequent search does not find any saved docs.

This started after Office Updates :

Office 2007 SP2
Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System KB967642
Visio 2007 SP2

I am having the same problem datamama. If you've found a fix for this
please post back. I have two systems (one XP Pro and one XP Home). Both
systems have identical installations of Office 2007. SP2 was downloaded and
installed via Windows Update seperately for each machine. The XP Pro system
works fine, saves new documents, etc. The XP Home system has the problem
you describe.

1.Using Office 2007 - can't find saved document

I am trying to find a few documents that have seemingly disappeared from my
husbands computer. He last opened at least two within the last two weeks.
Now we can't find them in the location that they should be in. We have tried
doing a search for the name on the complete hard drive, but we haven't found

Does anyone have any other suggestions? He knows that they were previously
on there, but now we can't find them.

3.After installed Office 2007, documents can't be saved to network d

After installing Office 2007 on multiple computers,
the users could no longer save changes to Office documents on the shared
network drive even though the permissions stayed the same, they receive the
error access is denied. The only way to allow them to save changes is to
grant them modify permissions.

Any ideas?

4.After installed Office 2007, documents can't be saved to netwo

We had to grant them modify permissions which allows the user to even delete
files. Apparently it is something w/ Office 2007 since Office 2003 did not
have to have modify permissions.
