In attempting to solve a spyware problem, I somehow removed my most current version of Internet Explorer to its prior version , and now I am on Version 5.00.2614.3500IS. Can I (and should I) move to a more recent version? How do I do that?
  • 2. Office should have a tense wizard. (past/present/future)
I think that ALL office programs should have a wizard which can standadise the tense of all verbs in a document or selection.
  • 3. I can't get service pack 3 (office) to load needs PRO.MSI but
He means that he can't install service pack 3 because it requires the original XP CD with the Pro.msi file. I have the same problem because I'm currently travelling and don't have the original XP installation disk, it's somewhere safe and I have no idea where that is, and consquently MS Office is crashing all the time. can anyone help with a way round this. {Previous poster probably couldn't complete his post because his IE probably crashed before he had time to}. • 4. How do you update Office? It prompts for updates when it fails wh.
It prompts you to install updates but since I usually buy laptops from Dell with all the software re-installed, there is no way of convincing Microsoft to let you install the updates. So you just end up with a version of Office that doesn't work very well.
  • 5. msp file missing from previous updates
I recently had to do a system restore on windows XP with out knowing that I would loose the MSP file. Now when I check for up dates I get this message (Windows Installer patch files (.MSP files) from previously applied Office updates are missing from the \Windows\Installer hidden directory on your computer. MSP files are stored on your computer after update installation completes because they need to be referenced for future update operations. If the files are missing you will not be able to apply Office updates. You may also be unable to uninstall Office products as a result of the same problem.) I am unable to repair or uninstall office 2003. Any Ideas on how do to fix this mess? Should I do a restore back to a date before I installed office 2003 and if so will it create more problems?

Have you tried a WordPerfect forum? They are the folks that would know
about WordPerfect conversion settings.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.

2.Wordperfect Office 2000 conversion to Word 2003

We just replaced all of our old Windows 98 workstations which used Word
Perfect 2000 and replaced them with new XP workstations that have MS Word
2003. We cannot open our old WP 2000 documents even though we installed the
conversion pack that comes with MS Office 2003. It tells us that the file
appears to be corrupt. A few of the files open but the title block does not
live. Is there a download we can do to open these old files or am I going to
have to purchase a new copy of Word Perfect for XP so we can open all of our
old documents.

Thanks Mike
