  • 1. Office 2000 updates/can't search my machine
Not that I care for Microsoft to search my machine, but-- I keep getting this: "Windows Installer patch files (.MSP files) from previously applied Office updates are missing from the \Windows\Installer hidden directory on your computer. MSP files are stored on your computer after update installation completes because they need to be referenced for future update operations. If the files are missing you will not be able to apply Office updates. You may also be unable to uninstall Office products as a result of the same problem." So, I don't know which files are missing, AND I may not be able to uninstall Office in order to reinstall it from disk. However, if I get no response on this query, that is what I will attempt to do. thank ya kindly!
  • 2. Error 1919 and ODBC Error Messages Article 324628
I have received the above error messages. I am using OFFICE 2000 Professional on Windows XP. I referred to Ms Knowlledge base article 324628 which advised that I DL MDAC 2.6 and to then redistribute Jet 4.0 (I downloaded both). It also advised that if I am unsure about system details that I DL MDAC Component Checker which I did. Component checker reported that it found a match MDAC 2.7 SP1 on Windows XP SP1. So now I am unsure if I should install MDAC 2.8 or Jet 4.0 SP 8. Can anyone help?
  • 3. Downloads for Office 2003
I recently purchased Office 2003 (without FrontPage) and upgraded from Office XP, which I had with FrontPage. At this point FrontPage is malfunctioning, both Excel and Word give me error messages going in and out ("Compile error in Hidden Module"), and when I attmpt to download any Office items, the system tells me it can't detect what I've got. I do have administrative privileges, and I have Installer Version 2.0, although I am occasionally prompted to reinstall Version 1.1. It would appear that I have fractions of the old system which are interfering with the new. I would appreciate any recommendations to cure this. I am a professor who teaches 4 university classes a week, 2 of which are online.
