Hi, I am managing a network that uses Windows XP and Office 2000 SP1a. I have been able to install SP2 and SP3 in some of these computers. In some systems (very few -10) I am unable to install SP2 and SP3. In MS Word 2000 I have the following (9.0.3821 SR-1). I tried running the SP2 and this is the error I am getting: The Update cannot be applied.. In a second system I was able to install SP2. In Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.4527); this system shows an updated version. However, if I tried to install SP3 I get "The expected version of the product was not found on your system". Please help me to install the SP's in my environment. Eddy Silvano

I recently installed Office, and found out it is old 95 version. Is there an upgrade to Office 2003 I can use ? OR do I have to buy whole new software and install over the old one ?

When I check for Office XP updates, I am recommended to download and install Office 2003 SP1. This seems odd to me. Should I do this?

Office 2003 update detector, administrative patch won't work

Postby TWlrZUY » Thu, 23 Sep 2004 01:41:02 GMT

Most grateful if anyone can help me out of this bind: The online update
detector doesnt work, and I cant update with the admin patch. Next I get the
message "The Product ID number you entered has expired. You may go back and
choose another support option or enter another Product ID number" when I try
to send an email support request. Is there some way out of this maze? Why is
my ID expired? This is a properly licensed and registered installation.

Office 2003 update will not work , I have an administrative install point.

When I try to update office on my laptop at home I can see the updates but I
get a message that tells me that the updates need to be installed from an
administrative point. I know this is how we installed all of our systems at
work but I need to be able to update when I am at home as I rarely go back to
the office. Can someone please tell me if and how I can get these updates
without going back to our office and installing them from the administrative
point.

2.Administrative Update and Office Update (2003)

Hi, i've updated my office 2003 administrative installation point with all
available updates. After reflecting these changes to the clients three
updates are still marked as not installed on the microsoft office update
website (KB873381, KB885828 and KB892258). All other updates (incl. the last
outlook junk filter update seems to be recognized correctly, because the are
not longer shown on the office update website). How can i solve this
problem?

3.Office 2003 Updates WITHOUT re-installing office after an administrative install

Is there anyway to install just the needed updates to an
Office 2003 installation that was done from an
administrative install point WITHOUT updating the point
and re-installing office on the clients?

I just want to create an administrative install point to
do my initial installs. After that, I want to install
just the needed patches and/or Service Packs via somthing
like SUS. I don't want to update the administrative
install point and re-install office everytime. Thanks.

4.Office 2003 Updates Won't Install (Work Around)

I was able to download both updates from the Office Page without using the
office update automatice thing and both updates installed without incident.
Hmm..maybe our web browser settings are mucked up, although, my windows
update works with no problem.
