I have done this several times with Office 2000 Standard and Professional > SP2 and SP3 without a hitch.

Compatibility patch Microsoft Office 2007(Beta) to Office XP Pro

Postby c2NvbGRlcg » Wed, 01 Nov 2006 18:23:02 GMT

I was had installed Microsoft Office 2007 (Beta 2) & the Technical refresh
and file compatibility pack for MO207 (Beta). Every thing was working until I
installed Google Desktop and since then problem after problem. I could not
open word files or excel (norton anti virus is mentioned as the problem) and
office outlook inbox was not functioning as it should. I have now uninstalled
MO2007 (Beta) after phoning Micosoft with another problem that I had pirated
software - they checked the information I gave them and I am actually
legitimate. I was informed by the Microsoft person (Alecha?) that files
created by MO2007 (Beta) are compatible with previously installed earlier
versions of XP (with the use of a 2007 conversion patch), which allows files
to be opened by either version. I CANT FIND THE PATCH and files created under
MO2007 wont open and mail received in Office Outlook 2007 have no text for
the body of the message - heading only. Can anybody help resolve above as it
has turned into a right nightmare!!!!

1.Office 2007 compatibility with Office XP 2002 pro

Hi
I am running MS XP and office XP pro 2002 sp3. I have kept the office suite
up to date with automatic updates.

I am goint to start receiving some emailed documents in VSTO (Visual Studio
Tools) which I understood will only be accessable with 2003 Office and
upwards.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the Microsoft update patch which I
understand will enable me to open and use Office 2007 documents.

Today I get downloaded to my computer, ready for installation various
security updates such as the
MS Office compatability service pack 1 and
six security updates for MS Office system 2007

Since A) I am using Office sp3, why do I need an SP1 update and
B) Why do I need to update my system with Office 2007 securiy updates

I would also like to know if using the compatability update which I
installed yesyerday is going to allow m to work with VSTO documents when
they come in.

Can anyone out there help me please.

Regards

2.Compatibility of Office XP Pro 2002 and Office Small Business 2007

Can I install the Access portion of Office XP Professional 2002 on my desktop

own the license for both.

3.Dual-Boot XP Pro 32-bit & XP Pro x64 / MS Office Pro 2007 Lice

No as I can only boot one OS at a time. They would be exclusive to whichever
OS was running. Data would be common.

4.Dual-Boot XP Pro 32-bit & XP Pro x64 / MS Office Pro 2007 License

I am unclear as the the true LEGAL situation in installing Office Pro 2007
for dual-boot PC's running two versions of XP Pro (32 & 64 bit). This is the
same OS, in principle, and on the same motherboard. Does this mean that if I
install it on both OS boot drives it is regarded as being installed ONCE or
TWICE on the licensed system? The HW signiature will be identical.

I still would like to install it on a portable unit for field work and am
under the impression that this is valid under the License Installation and
Use Rights, para. 2b.

Any ideas or do I need a lawyer to solve this one?
