The problem has been fixed, found out my Windows Installer was corrupted, we removed it and reinstalled a new one and this is working now. • 2. How do you update POP files for Outlook 2002 Mail client?
I am setting up my new Dell Laptop. I installed Office 2002 with Outlook. I set it up to exchange with GMAIL and followed all instructions and duplicated the settings from my old Dell Laptop. It recieves from GMAIL but will not send mail out. I have looked for a POP update download from MSFT but to no avail. I think its something else. Anyone recognize this?
  • 3. All Office 2007 file types suddenly fail with Office 2003/Windows
Although I was previously able to open Office 2007 file types, now everything fails. I cannot open any of them; I cannot save in any of them; right-clicking to "Save As" fails. The error messages vary. I have Windows 2000 and Office 2003. Windows Update shows everything is fully updated. I have removed and re-installed FileFormatConverters with no effect. Office 2003 appears to be working properly, but I have no access to Office 2007 file types.
  • 4. office XPpro fails to install patches
I have installed office 2007 and then un installed it by deleting directories and keys the had a 12 in them or said 2007. I reinstalled office XP Pro (2002) and now I have two problems. My e-mail will not send to any of the three accounts I have. The updates are failing, Microsoft update says I need to install SP3 and office Pro says it is SP3. All other updates to office are failing. I used a cleaner tool to remove the office 2007 stuff from my add/remove programs folder. Now office 2007 will not install either. I wanted to change an option in office 2007 but it would not let me, so I uninstalled it. Would somebody add uninstall to the dictionary? I did try office 2010 for a while and that uninstalled ok. So now what. No send ability in outlook 2002. reports 0x800ccc0f.

I am unable to check for updates for my Office 2000
running on Win 98. I receive a message that some .mSP
files are missing, but not sure which .msp files are
missing. I found 15 .msp files under the /Installer/
directory.

3.Office Update is unable to check for updates

Tried to update my Office Product and received the
following error:
I have administrative privileges!
What else could it be.

Office Update is unable to check for updates

The Office Update site is unable to check for updates on
this computer. This may be happening because of one of
the following reasons:

You do not have administrative privileges for this
computer.
There is a network problem and the detection catalog used
by the Office Update site failed to download. Go back to
the Downloads home page and try running detection again.
Windows Installer patch files (.MSP files) from
previously applied Office updates are missing from the
\Windows\Installer hidden directory on your computer. MSP
files are stored on your computer after update
installation completes because they need to be referenced
for future update operations. If the files are missing
you will not be able to apply Office updates. You may
also be unable to uninstall Office products as a result
of the same problem. Please contact Microsoft Product
Support Services for assistance.
You installed Office updates in the past and then
upgraded from Windows Installer version 1.0 to Windows
Installer version 1.1. For more information see the KB
article Windows Installer May Prompt for Install Source
if Unavailable.
