  • 1. Office 2000 Service Pack 3 Install problems
I am having to install Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) onto a laptop for a user in my office. I have a problem towards the end of the install being that once the laptop has restarted, to complete the install, i get the error message, which reads something like: "Office SP3 was installed but with some discrepancies. Please contact your local technical customer service representative" If I then check in word, excel etc is shows its still using SP1. So the update hasnt worked properly. Things I have tried so far are: Trying to install again (with minimal services running) Repairing Office 2000 and running install again Uninstalling Office 2000, reinstalling then running SP3 again. AND the obvious things like defrag, scandisk, cleanup etc. This has happened on a few machines. All machines are running Windows 2000 (customized for the company) and all machines already have the needed SP1 installed already. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

  • 5. microsoft automatic update freezes
When using the automatic update via the MS web site, it detects three updates required. Upon selecting them to start installation, the Office Update Installation Wizard - Web Page Dialog page opens, displays a brief message that the wizard is starting/initializing and then does nothing/freezes. Is there anyway to get the automatic updates working again? It would be annoying to have to select them all individually from the download site, although that would work. missing

Hi, Swimtec,

Do you have another Office-family product installed, such as Works / Word,
or FrontPage? You might try using that CD when prompted.

1.Missing Files: SKU1CA.CAB & @2561412.CAB

I am having trouble installing MS Office Small Business Edition 2003.

I tried installing MS Ofc SBE 2003 on my new laptop. The package cam
w two disks. After installing the first disk (MS Ofc SBE 2003), I the
tried unsuccessfully to install the second disk (Business Contac
Manager Update). Here are the messages I got:

Message: Before you can install Business Contact Manager for Outlook
you must install MS Office Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later. SP1 i
included on Office CD2. Do you want to install SP1 now? I answere

Message: After installation of SP1 is complete, you will need t
restart the Business Contact Manager for Outlook Setup Wizard.

Message: Installation Error: File not Found. A required installatio
field SKU1CA.CAB could not be found.

Message: Original Installation Source Required: If you installed M
Office SBE 2003 from a CD, please insert your CD... once you hav
located your installation source, click "OK".

I then installed the MS Office SBE 2003 CD (first disk), and in th
"Browse" area, selected "Removable Disk (F)".

Message: Installation Error: File not found. A required installatio
field E2561412.CAB could not be found.

Message (repeat): Original Installation Source Required....

The first disk was still in my computer. It seems I am in some kind o
loop here, and am unable to complete my installation of MS Office SB
2003. This is a pity, because I'd like to try out their Busines
Contact Manager software, and I'd like to use Outlook for sending an
receiving emails, scheduling appointments, etc

2.Error missing file: SKU1CA.CAB

I am trying to open my version of Microsoft Word 2003 and I am suddenly
receiving an error message that tells me that it is unable to find file:
SKU1CA.CAB. It also tells me to reload Microsoft Word Small Business 2003.
I have never installed or run this program. I am using the personal version
of Word, not the small business version. Does anyone know why I am getting
this message?

5.SKU1CA.CAB File Missing

I have Office Small Business Edition 2003 [upgrade from Office 2000 Pro]
running on XP Home SP2, Pentium 4, 1g RAM, 1.6 Ghz.

It has been running for some months without any great problems. Over the
past couple of weeks both Outlook and Excel have given the odd error so I
thought a 'detect and repair would be a good idea.

I have the original installation CD and fairly soon after starting, set up
asks for SKU1CA.CAB.

I insert the CD, browse for the file and click - ok or continue [?] and it
just keeps asking for the 'milling file' which is very obviously on the CD

Having cancelled the operation, it attempts to start again at every MS
Antispyware scan and both Excel and word will not open at all ?

A reinstall could be a problem as I cannot locate the Office Pro 2000 CD
which was used as the upgrade path.

I have an OEM MS Works on this machine but don't know if that is an
acceptable upgrade path ?

Any and all assistance greatly appreciated.
