Office 2003 SP3 Update - Cannot Boot

Postby c2JpbGphbg » Fri, 28 Sep 2007 22:43:03 GMT

Upon turning my computer on after completing the Office 2003 SP3 update, my
computer fails to boot. The specific message says "No boot device available."
Going into the boot sequence within the BIOS setup utility (Dell) lists five
devices (onboard or USB floppy, onboard SATA, onboard IDE, onboard or USB CD,
and USB device). All five of them or "not present", though.

Does any one have any suggestions?

sounds to me like you got other problems besides the office update. That
particular activity sounds like some kind of virus/malware...

1.UPDATING TO OFFICE 2003 SP3 CANNOT FIND THE REQUIRED OWC10SE.MSI

I AM USING THE MICROSOFT ONLINE UPDATE AND A CRITICAL UPDATE IS OFFICE SP3
BUT I NEED OWC10SE.MIS TO COMPLETE THE UPDATE.

I SEARCHED THE LOCAL DRIVES AND INSTALLATION DISKS BUT CAN FIND THE FILE.

1. WHERE CAN I FIND THIS FILE SO I CAN UPDATE TO SP3?
2. MY MACHINE IS JUST 2 MONTHS OLD SO WHY DO I NOT HAVE THIS FILE?

2.cannot update Office SP3 w/ Teachers ED Office XP

I have a hp pavillion 750n, running Win XP, Home. I
installed the Teachers and Student version of Office XP.

I went to Office Update and downloaded service pack 3.
When told to put Office Installation Disk in CD, I did
so, but the installation program could not
find "outlook.msi" file on this xoriginal CD.

When I purchased the Teachers and Student version of
Office, I knew that I would not be able to update to
Office 2003. Does the "no update" rule also apply to
service pack updates, or is there something wrong with my
CD?.

Thanks.

3.Office Update Web Site - Update Office 2000 Small Business to SP3

Hi,

While trying to update my Office 2000 Small Business software, I was able to
update to versions SR 1a. Next the wizard found that I needed SP3 and when I
attempted to run the update it asked for the Office 2000 Premium disk. I put
in the Office 2000 Small Business disk 1 which worked for the SR 1a update
but would not work for the SP3 update.

My Question is do I need the SP3 update and if so is there a different one
available for the Small Business version of Office 2000?

Thanks,

Dave

I receive the following errors when attempting to update to Office 2003

Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem may be. I performed the
same update on my Windows XP PC without a problem.

Thanks
