  • 1. SP Switches
I am trying to run SP's 1,2 and 3 in a silent install from a bat file and I can't find any switches that work to make it silent. I am using /Q at the moment and it is all fine until the end when it says something along the lines of "Service Pack 1 has installed successfully" and you have to click on OK before you can move onto the next install. Is there a switch that will make this completely silent?
  • 2. upgrade Works OEM to Office 2003 Pro?
I have MS Works 7.0 OEM which came installed on my computer. I tried to register it online when prompted, but the Microsoft site said I had an invalid product ID, probably because it has -OEM- in the ID. That's fine, I don't need to register it, I don't plan on using Works. But the fact that my product ID wasn't accepted makes me wonder if I will be able to upgrade my Works OEM version to Office 2003. Does anyone know if the Microsoft Office 2003 Professional "Upgrade" CD will acknowledge my OEM copy of Works 7.0 and allow me to upgrade it? The packaging says 2003 Professional Upgrade is eligible from Works 8.0, 7.0, and 6.0 but I don't know if it will recognize my OEM product ID and allow the upgrade. I need to find out before I buy the upgrade version since once I open it I wouldn't be able to return it. Thanks...

  • 5. office 2000 update will not download
I go to download the office updates (service pack 3) and after I put in the requested CD, it looks like it is all downloading, but then says it was unsuccessful. I have searched through the questions already asked and find that many people have asked this question but I sure cannot see anyone actually helping with a concrete answer. One person says to go to a different newsgroup but I don't see how you do that. Would someone please help me? Thanks so much.

Please provide more information so I can try and help. What Office product do
you have installed? (you can check in Start->Control Panel-> Add/Remove
programs).
What update(s) did you try and install? What error message did you receive?
Have you been able to download updates before?

The first thing I always recommend is running a repair on all Office apps
(Help menu -> Detect and Repair).
