I want to run a sub-procedure everytime a project is opened, any project. I'm assuming that you place the the sub-procedure in the Project Objects for the Enterprise Global, right? Basically, I want to turn on or off toolbars found in the Enterprise Global based on user input. I tried creating a "Project_Open()" procedure, but I got an error. Any ideas?

  • 3. Automation application - MS Project gets erractic
Hi all, I've written an automation application that is quite simple. get projectcs list (from PDS. About 200 projects) open MSProject connecting to Project server for each project open the project calculateAll save the project close the project end for Close MS Project This application runs in background and start the update every days at a specified time, or when the user starts it. The problem is it runs perfectly for 3 to 4 times, then it becomes erratic. In fact MS Projetct Get stuck (waiting for a user input when nnormally it should not) during the save or during the close or generate an exception (like unexpected error) during the update of some random projects. When this happen, I have to restart MSProject and retry the update for the project sometimes it works sometimes not. The worst is that the more the application runs, the more it happens and on different projects. After 10 or 11 runs, it fails almost for each project. I have to reboot the server. I thought it could have been a memory leak or something like that, but even if I close and restart the application for each run, the same problem occurs. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions Hugues

Restricting the hours entered in Timesheet

Postby RGV2YQ » Fri, 12 Feb 2010 06:27:02 GMT

We have to restrict the users from entering more than 12 hrs per day. So we
need to read the hours from timesheet in the pre-event of timesheet save and
submit and then need to cancel those event if the user is entering more than
12 hours.

We are able to read the timesheet hours only from the post event of save and
submit.

How to read the hours in the pre event of save and submit and then cancel if
the hours are more than 12 hours?

Thanks in Advance

I thought there is a maximum hours setting in Admin settings for PWA or is
my memory failing me again?

PSI development might be able to do what you want, otherwise you're out of
luck and need to make it a training and governance issue.

2.Report for entered hours in timesheet

Hello everyone,

my apologies if this post is in the wrong group.

I am using Project Server 2003 and web access and wish to
create a report (DB query will also be fine) or similar that tells
me which user has entered which hours.
If I create a report in Project in the Resource Usage view I get as
combination
of the values that have been entered and those calculated by Project. I want
only the numbers that have been entered by the user.
Exporting the grid in the update history in the web based part
does not help as tasks appear more than once.

Thank you very much!

4.can磘 enter hours worked in the PWA task timesheet view

Hallo,
this issue is concerning the tracking of task progress in
the PWA. In our company we had reinstalled the Project
Server and after completing this, the old (and preserved)
projects have been saved in the new database. Up to this
everything would work fine but the tracking of task
progress by resources in PWA.

The rows (fields) of their old tasks (that they have been
working on and that have not been completed yet) are grey
and they can not fill in the hours worked. Other task
fields, that have been assigned but had not been filled in
in the past, are white and available for entering the
hours.

The method of tracking is set to "Hours of work done per
day or per week" and the Time Period Settings section to
the "Resources should report their hours worked every
day". The projects have been republished so the method of
tracking could take the effect.

Why then the resources can not fill in the hours worked in
their timesheet view? Please advice. Thank you!
