Project Server 2007 Web Front End
by Ym5vcg » Fri, 28 Aug 2009 00:37:01 GMT
I have setup a medium farm environment based on the best practices with one
application server with project server, a seperate database server and
another web front end server. I created the initial pwa and ssp on the
application server and now I am interested to what is the purpose of web
front end when the pwa is located on the project server?

1.Web Front-End & App Server w/ SPS2007
Can I place Project Server 2007 Web Front-End on the same box as Sharepoint
Portal Server 2007 Web Front-End server?
Similarly, can I place the Project Server 2007 application server on the
same box as SPS2007 app server?
I am using SQL Server 2005 for both. It resides on another box. Will this
work?
Thanks,
Jeff
2.copy a .gif file to that location on each front-end Web server
Hello,
In the Site settings of a project Workspace in PWA 2007 :
Site Settings / Title, Description, and Icon
It's said :
"If the file location has a local relative address, for example,
/_layouts/images/logo.gif, you must copy the graphics file to that location
on each front-end Web server. "
My question is : how and where to copy a .gif file "to that location on each
front-end Web server"?
Thanks.
3.Project Server 2007 Front-end Schedule Building
I have been talking with our Microsoft sales team and doing some research. I
understand that Server 2007 allows some schedule building in the web
front-end. This would allow some users to no longer need a client version of
MS Project Pro.
Can anyone elaborate on how much functionality is now available on the
front-end, in terms of schedule building?
Are there other improvements that remove the need for MS Project Pro? If so,
can you elaborate on what some of these improvement are?
