If you are correctly authenticated , the list is automaticaly selected with your login name, but : 1) How this list is filled? How a user is added ? Why some are in and some not 2)Why some users are not authenticated and then the list is not selected with their login name ? the user have windows account thanks for help
  • 4. Complete a task before moving to next task.
I'm confused. I'd like to specify a number of tasks, give them each an amount of work, then assign them to a resource. I'm expecting that leveling should move the start and end dates of the tasks so that the resource consistently has their assigned % of work. The tasks should follow one another--one should be completed before the next one starts. Instead, I'm seeing the tasks start in parallel. Project tweaks the assign resources percentages to reflect that. So I go in and change the % back to whats expected. Rather than level the tasks, the resource is grossly overallocated, with the tasks still in parallel. What needs to happen here? I could put in dependencies, but I don't think that's necessarily the best way to solve the problem. I want Project to do the scheduling for me! Thanks.
  • 5. Not able to open a XML file in MS Project 2003 just by clicking it.
Hi; When saving an Excel document as XML, I am able to load and view that documnet into Excel just by a doubleclick on the saved XML document. If I try to doubleclick on a XML document saved from MS Project 2003, the XML file is shown in Internet Explorer - not opened as a project in MS Project 2003. Does anybody know why, and it is possible to obtain what I want ? (I know that I can do it from inside MS Project by Open, selecting file type XML and so on....) Regards Torger Kjeldstad

Project Server 2007 Web Front End

Postby Ym5vcg » Fri, 28 Aug 2009 00:37:01 GMT

I have setup a medium farm environment based on the best practices with one
application server with project server, a seperate database server and
another web front end server. I created the initial pwa and ssp on the
application server and now I am interested to what is the purpose of web
front end when the pwa is located on the project server?

1.Web Front-End & App Server w/ SPS2007

Can I place Project Server 2007 Web Front-End on the same box as Sharepoint
Portal Server 2007 Web Front-End server?

Similarly, can I place the Project Server 2007 application server on the
same box as SPS2007 app server?

I am using SQL Server 2005 for both. It resides on another box. Will this
work?

Thanks,

2.copy a .gif file to that location on each front-end Web server

Hello,
In the Site settings of a project Workspace in PWA 2007 :
Site Settings / Title, Description, and Icon
It's said :
"If the file location has a local relative address, for example,
/_layouts/images/logo.gif, you must copy the graphics file to that location
on each front-end Web server. "

My question is : how and where to copy a .gif file "to that location on each
front-end Web server"?
Thanks.

3.Project Server 2007 Front-end Schedule Building

I have been talking with our Microsoft sales team and doing some research. I
understand that Server 2007 allows some schedule building in the web
front-end. This would allow some users to no longer need a client version of
MS Project Pro.

Can anyone elaborate on how much functionality is now available on the
front-end, in terms of schedule building?

Are there other improvements that remove the need for MS Project Pro? If so,
can you elaborate on what some of these improvement are?
