I want to use the VSTO that comes with visual studio 2008 to create an add-in for visio 2003; however, i have very limited knowledge of the deployment process after creating the add-in, and iv seen complex explanations on the NET. Do anyone know a good site that explains the process well that i could focus my research. Thanks in advance.

I previously had a multiple-page org chart (each viewed on an intranet as individual PowerPoint-type pages) of @400 employees in MS Org Chart and need to recreate it in Visio. I'm not having trouble with the basic org chart functions. When I copy the first chart onto a new page, it loses my formatting, Perhaps I need to create it all on one page then display. Can anyone point me in the right direction. There's got to be a way to do this.

Hello, I am currently linking multiple word documents into a visio file (I use the copy-paste special method to link them). When I make an update to any of the word documents, the size of the "shape" in visio grows much larger. To fix the issue, I have to open each indivisual linked word document, which returns it to the original size. The current document I am working on has approximately 150 word documents linked in so this can be very frustrating and time consuming. I would like to either resolve the issue or create a macro which will automatically go through the document and open each linked word document. Any ideas? Thanks!

Does anyone know how to draw a sinusoid or an exponentially decaying sinusoid in Visio 2007. For some reason Visio doesn't seem to have any templates for sinusoidal waveforms.

Having typed in a lot of information, I would like to see it in a "normal"
outline view in Word. Is there a way to export the text to Word or just
generically? I am using Visio 2007.

I have a rather detailed brainstorming file completed, but Visio crashed.
When I opened the file again, the information is still in the Visio chart,
but none of it is in the Outline window. I tried to export the data to see if
it was there, but hidden somewhere, but nothing was in the file when I opened
the XML file in Word and Excel.

3.Problems getting back the outline window for a brainstorming diagr

I have Visio 2003 Professional in my office PC.
I have a brainstorming diagram with a multi-level outline (around 4 levels).
I do not get any warnings when I save the diagram but when I re-open it, the
outline is empty. When I add a new topic to this existing diagram, the new
topic does not appear in the outline window. The only way I can add a new
topic is to use the options off the outline window.

4.outline window doesn't display the tree

I'm using Brainstorming with Visio 2003, after I saved, closed Visio and
reopened it, the task pane display all the shapes and their relationship
correctly but the Outline window only displays my file name - is that a
feature or bug? Would someone know how I can get back to my outline tree
from here? Thank you very much.

5.Moving topics and Subtopics in Outline Window?

We have a large project that has 3 diagrams with 1 Main topic, 25 Topics, and around 90 sub topics, and page size is 14 inches by 27 inches. Is there a way from the Outline Window to sort and move up and down Topics and sub topics according to value associates with it? If you right click a Sub topic and then move it up and down it does not update the diagram, it only does it in the Outline Window.

The way stuff needs to be sorted that each sub topic has a value associated with it ranging from 5000 to 300,000, and I want to sort them from highest to lowest, like you can do in Excel. Is there a function in Visio to do this or does it have to be done by hand for each one separately.

Also, this ties into the first question somewhat, is there a way to index or associate a shape (Topic) from page 1 to Page 2 and automatically update one if you change the other?
