  • 1. Debugger
Hi, I'm having a problem with macros where if I record a macro and then run it and it encounters an error it gives me an option to Debug and highlights the error. This however is not happening with macros written from scratch, there's just an error messgae and the OK and Help button. Can someone please tell me how to enable the Debug option in scratch written macros? Thanks. -Leigh Clow

I just installed a trial version of the visio professional edition at home. I got a product ID and everything installed ok without any errors. But when I open the visio application the first panel opens but I am unable to create a new file. In the meantime the activation wizard keeps popping up and says my trial version expired. Its supposed to be good for 60 days. Can someone help before the 60 days are over.. Thank you my email: XXXX@XXXXX.COM

Visio 2003 - Is text import removed?

Postby Petter » Sat, 04 Oct 2003 19:43:20 GMT

Visio 4, 5, 2000 and 2002 could automagically create great drawings
(flow-charts) from text-files. Visio 2003 professional does not recognize
the text-files my VC6 application creates :-(

I there an available another not so hard technique my application can use to
let Visio create my simple drawings?

1.Visio 2003 - Space Plans, Removing Imported Data, Breaking links

I'm slowly coming to a solution on creating an office floor plan, and
populating the drawing with icons representing computer equipment from
a SQL database. The problem I have now, is once I Enable Space Plans,
and Import Data there seems to be no way to remove the "link" that is
created. For example, I run the Import Data wizard, and I decide to
import equipment from a table containing Printer. Using the wizard I
assign a shape to be used, and voila the drawing is populated properly
with all the printers. Now if I choose to Refresh the data, new
printers are added as the database is updated, and I can remove items.
The problem is if I decide that I no longer want printers in my
drawing, there is no way to get rid of them. Every time I do a Refresh
it just adds them back. Does anyone know how to tell Visio to stop
Importing a particular item type? These "links" must be stored
somewhere, but I can't find them to remove them.

Thanks,
Troy.

3.Visio 2003 on WinXP - Remove existing property sets doesn't remove existing property sets

I have defined two custom property sets that I wish to apply to existing
shapes in a drawing. The shapes contain existing properties. Following the
instructions in Help, I select the shape(s), then choose Tools | Custom
Property Sets. I check the checkbox on one of my property sets, check the
"Shapes selected in drawing" radio button, and then check the box next to
"Remove existing property sets". I click "Apply". My custom properties are
added, but the old ones aren't removed.

Any ideas why this might not be working and how to work around it? I'd like
to apply a mass custom property set to a bunch of shapes.

I have not applied any service packs, and the MSKB doesn't indicate that
this would be affected, anyway.

Thanks in advance,

4.Import text files in Visio 2003

In Visio 2002 and older it was a possibility to import TAB separated text

Is it anyone that know any VBA program or AddOn that do the job in Visio 2003?
