  • 1. Labeling Connection Points
Is it possible to EASILY (I am very new to Visio) add text to both ends of a connection between two shapes? What I am trying to build is a diagram that has multiple devices (routers) that are connected through dynamic connections. I want to label each end of the connecter with the port that the other device connects too. I have been able to label the connection as well as move the text to either end of the connection, but I am unable to add a second text box to the connection. What I am doing now is adding a text box that is not connected to the link. The problem is that once I move the device the links reroute appropriately, but the second text box that is not attached needs to be moved manually. BTW, I am using v.2003 if it makes a difference. Thanks, Tom

Buy Office XP ($multi-hundred)
or
Buy WordPerfect Office (excellent, and only ~$100)
or
602 Suite or StarOffice - Google & download or look on magazine CDs
(both suites are adequate and free).

1.Visio 2003: Open Help independly from the App/Help Search

Hello,

is there any way to open the two Help-files
- Microsoft Office Visio Automation Reference
- Microsoft Office Visio ShapeSheet Reference
independly from the App?
In directory \1033 are a lot of *.chm-files, is there any
documentation
available?

When I open the "Developer Reference" (Help), Search seems not to work
(I mean should search only in the two above mentioned Help-files).

Thanks for any hint
Udo

2.Help for Help

Hello

Not sure if I am posting this to the right people but..

When installing VisioXP Standard or Professional on our Win2000 SP2 systems, we are unable to access the HELP item in the HELP menu. Error is an INTERNET EXPLORER SCRIPT ERROR indicating that "an error has occurred on the script of this page". This is true on all of our company's systems. IE version is 6SP1. I've tried several things, and the only thing that fixes the problem is to apply SP4 for Windows 2000. We are about 5-6 months away from applying SP4 corporate-wide, so I am wondering if there are any other things that I can try

I can post more detail on the error if needed

4.HELP - HELP Visio 2000 template background colour issue

I have recently had to rebuild my PC due to virus. Previously I used Win Pro
2000 and now use Win XP. I had this issue before some years ago which was
resolved by making changes in the register. The background stencile and page
background colour is black. This makes the programme unuseable. How I can I
reset the background to its default colour green for stencile and light blue
for page backgound.
