  • 1. Rogue milestones on a timeline?
Yesterday I created a diagram with 4 cylindrical timelines, onto each of which I placed/configured intervals and milestones. Today I revised the diagram, dragging the intervals and milestones on each timeline forward two weeks. But on one of the timelines, just the milestones did not automatically update to their new date positions. I confirmed that "automatially update" was checked for the timeline. I tried reconfiguring one of the milestones, but got an alert message saying I needed to drag it onto a timeline first. (It was already ON one.) I tried to start fresh by dragging a new milestone onto the timeline, but as soon as I configured it, it "jumped" up to land on the timeline above. Eventually I just used "set milestone" to manually apply new dates to each milestone on this one timeline. Any ideas how to solve and/or prevent this happening again? Major PITA. -- Eulilie
  • 2. cut out or hollowed out text? (visio 2003)
I am working on a printing project and have an issue with text boxes. I would like to create a text box with characters that are cut out (hollow) to allow another layer to be visible through the characters. I have already created a new fill pattern and would like that pattern to be visible through the characters. Example: Shape 1 (back layer) - square with Plaid bitmap pattern for the fill Shape 2 (top layer) - text box with green fill I would like the text typed into text box to be plaid or whatever fill pattern is used for shape 1 Can text be subtracted from a shape? or Can a new fill pattern be applied to text? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Taggert

Re: hsrp symbol visio

If I understand the question "what is the symbol for hsrp?", you're asking
about Hot Standby Router Protocol. I'd suggest the same symbol that you use
for any other protocol (netbios, ip, sna, ipx, bgp, etc.). It's not a box,
it's a configuration options within a router.

HSRP is a doddle just look at cisco.com... but what about an ISDN back
up to your frame relay on the other router? What if your Frame router
burns? You should look at HSRP with active on your frame with tracking
to your Frame relay interface to state if the Frame goes down switch the
HSRP to the back-up router with ISDN......

Just my two shillings worth..

Can anyone help with an HSRP config between two 2600 routers and a
2912 switch.

3.Embedded Visio objects in Word replace symbols with wrong symbols

I have a bunch of flowcharts created with Visio that are embedded in Word as
Visio Objects. After I open them to edit, they lose all their formatting
information and all the text prints as Arial size 12 as opposed to Time New
Roman 10 as it appears on the screen. I discovered a way to fix this was
that after each time I edit, I right click on the embedded object, go to
Visio Object, and select "Convert...". I recently discovered that once I do
this, some of the symbols in the flowchart get replaced by other symbols.
Most notably, all the "greater than or equal to" and "less than or equal to"
symbols are replaced with equal signs. I've tried recreating the Visio
flowcharts from scratch and re-embedding them, and I've tried using a brand
new blank Word document and embedding a brand new Visio flowchart containing
only one box with a symbol in it, but I still encounter this problem.

Does anyone know what could be causing this or how to fix it?

Does anyone know of a location from which to download simple logic
