I am creating a new Project Schedule, Calendar (US units) on Visio 2003 SP2. When I drag a Year shape onto my page, it should (and used to) automatically show me the Custom Properties dialog box to specify the year and other information. However, now when I drag a year shape onto my blank page, the dialog box does not display and only the first month is populated with the default 2003 information. Is there a setting turned off? Or is the dialog box possibly hidden somewhere? I can right click on the calendar to get to the custom properties where I can set it, but I want to know why it's not working as it used to. Has anyone seen this before?

Org charts and links to Exchange 2003

Hi All,

Has anyone had the Visio 2003 Org chart wizard successfully generate an
org chart from Exchange?

I've tried it, but it doesn't generate anything, other than the "top"
name I point it to. (nb: the GUI is able to retrieve that list, so I
guess its connecting ok).

I've updated all my users reporting structures, titles, Personal data
etc to match our reporting structure, but the wizard doesn't produce it..

Any ideas?

Well,

It seems to query Exchange/GAL ok, and if I manually put "<Top
Executive>" in the "Name at top of page" section, then it gives me 76
Pages, with one user per page.. saying "Your Organisation data contains
76 entries that are not in the organization. Do you want to include them
in your drawing?"

Right.. after reading :

 http://www.**--****.com/

I find the cause is due to Caching... Don't know why.. If I leave the
Caching in Outlook on, then it fails, turn it off, it works ok.. Rubbish..

I've also tried upgrading office (outlook) to 2007 as well, but it still
fails. Either I only get one user shown, or it insists that a user isn't
in the "organisation", even though I just chose that user from the GAL..

1.Problem with Visio 2003/Exchange 2003 Org Chart Integration

I hope you can help me with a problem I am having with the org chart
integration between Visio 2003 SP1 and Exchange 2003 with no service packs
installed. When I make the org chart, it generates all of the managers, but
loses some of their subordinates. For instance, I have one manager with
three subordinates. When I run the wizard on that manager only two
subordinates are returned. I have checked via Outlook 2003 SP1 and Active
Directory and all of the subordinates are set there properly to their
manager. Can anyone think of anything I can do to correct this?

Thank you,

Mr. X

3.Visio Org Chart from Exchange

Hi,

Apologies if this is the wrong group for a Visio query, but I cannot seem to
find any Technet newsgroups specifically for Visio.

I am running Visio 2007 Professional and Exchange 2003 std SP2.

I am trying to create an org chart from Exchange data with the 'import org
data' wizard in Visio and choosing Exchange server directory. The directory
is populated and users have managers set in AD, these show as manger and
direct reports in the global address book.

When I complete the wizard, only the user I have chosen to be at the top of
the page is shown. No subordinates are shown.

I have seen a few other similar queries in the groups, but no solutions.

Is this a permissions issue? The account I am running Visio from is a
delegated Exchange admin.

Many thanks in advance for any help, I really don't want to have to enter
all the info manually!

Regards,

Chris.

4.Org Chart from Exchange

I'm running:

orgwiz.exe /microsoft-exchange /pages="CTOs Name" 2 PAGENAME="Tech"

And Visio creates a 500+ page document, each page containing just one
Exchange user. The first page is correctly title "Tech" but the person on
the page is not the CTO - it is the first Exchange user.

It looks like whatever option I feed it the behavior remains the same.
Except if I misspell the CTO's name - then it reports it couldn't find the
user. All the Exchange fields should have normal names and I've tried
messing around with switches like /manager-field without any success.

What would cause Visio to make so many pages and ignore the reporting
hierarchy?
