I have a Sony Vaio laptop with 64 bit Wndows 7 Professional installed as the host OS. I have downloaded and installed Virtual PC and wish to run Sever 2008 for study/evaluation. I have the 180 day trial software of Server 2008 as an iso file. When I try and install it in VPC I get this error message immediately during setup: 'File: \Window\system32\boot\winload.exe Status: 0xc000035a Info: Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode.' I need to find a way to run Server 2008 as a Virtual PC. Any suggestions? Regards, Anastas
  • 2. Windows Virtual PC on Windows 7 very slow network access
Hello All, I'm running Windows Virtual PC on Windows 7 RTM. (4 cores, 64 bit, 8G RAM) I've created an XP VM but the VM's network performance back to the host machine is really slow. A similar VM on an XP host (via Virtual PC 2007) performs much better network-wise (orders of magnitude better probably). I'm not running this in "XP mode" (at least I don't think I am), I just want a VM to test software installs on. I've installed the "Integration features". I dunno what else to pursue. Any ideas? Thanks, John.

How to Increase the number of Hard-Disk in OS on the Virtual PC 20

Postby TWFp » Thu, 04 Oct 2007 03:51:09 GMT

The OS of my Physical Machine is WinXP Professional.

And I install "Virtual PC 2007" on my OS.

I use "Virtual PC 2007" to run "Windows Vista (U-version)"

Then I already added the HardDisk2 in the console of "Virtual PC 2007"

But when I turn on "Windows Vista (U-version)"

, I couldn't find HardDisk2 in "My Computer"

Why? :-(

This isn't a Virtual PC question - it would be the same if you added a new
physical hard disk to a physical machine...

Go to Manage, Disk Management and format the new hard disk...
