    Is it possible to save and load code analysis settings for projects? I would like to use only a subset of the existing code analysis rules. So i've to go to the project settings and deselect the rules i don't want. But i've to do that for every project. Is there a simple way to save my selection and load it for other projects?   • 2. "Show All Files" in VS2005 doesn't expand/collapse the .cs/.resx
    Hello, In VS2003, my Solution Explorer displayed a tree with only the .cs files listed. Then when I clicked the "Show All Files" button, each .cs that is a form would appear in the tree with a + beside it. Expanding that branch by clicking the plus would then reveal the .resx file below. In VS2005, "Show All Files" definitely shows and hides various files in each assembly within the Solution Explorer. But it no longer shows and hides the DependentUpon ResX relationship. How do I configure the IDE to collapse the .cs/.resx combo into a single Solution Explorer tree node?     I receive the above message any time I try to add an item to an existing or new project. I have searched and found that the WSH may be the problem, but I have installed it, twice. I have tried re-registering msxml3.dll. Nothing seems to work. I can't add anything, so I am stuck... Any help would be appreciated... Joel WZ

    Hello I am experiencing the following problem: When I try to open a form (eg. frmAskTableName.vb) in the design mode, the following error message will appear instead of my form: << An exception occured while trying to create an instance of Project.frmMaster. The exception was "Request fo the permission of type System.Security.Permissions.FileiOPermission, mscorlib, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" >>. Project.frmAskTableName.vb inherits the Project.frmMaster class. This error is thrown since yesterday. The last time (beginnig of the last week) I opened a form in the design mode, everything was okay. i have not changed the frmMaster nor the frmAskTableName classes. Ass I read in other disscussions, a missing Public Sub New() constructor could be a problem. But the constructor Public Sub New() exists in the frmMaster class. I can also compile the application and everything is working. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

hi there

Can anybody please tell me how can i disable line cut without
selection in VS.net IDE.
 
I could not find it anywhere in options, etc. Or if you dont have any
such option so anybody from the IDE development team deny its
existence though its important to have such a option to disable this.

just wanted to remove the confusion what i actually mean is Copy a
line Ctrl+C without selection. !!

The previous versions (6 and before) had it as an option, called something like
"enable copy without selection" in the compatibility options.  I can't find the
option since VS 02 -- I'd really like to know where the option went.

I don't think the option is available in VS 2003. It is available in VS 2005
Beta (Tools | Options | Text Editor | All Languages | General | Apply

Then, apparently, someone decided that it is "the only right thing" for VS.
NET 2003. Well, I and everyone I work with hates it...
It seems to be the same in VS.NET 2005.
There is an option "Apply Cut or Copy commands to blank lines when there is
no selection", but it doesn't turn it off completely and just makes its
behaviour even more confusing.

2.Lines disappear when cutting and pasting 

I have a diagram in Visio that looks fine on the screen and when printed, 
however when I copy (Ctrl-A) and paste special (Microsoft Visio Drawing 
Object) into Power Point, some of the connecting lines are gone. Any ideas?

3.selection disappears in TreeView without focus 

Hi!

A have a problem with a TreeView. When the tree looses focus the selected
Item isn't any longer selected. When the TreeView gets focus back the
Item is selected again.

I set the property "Hide Selection"=false

Did I forget something?

4.disable built-in menu and short-cut key for cut command 

I have a spreadsheet setup with cell references to a hidden worksheet that I 
use for data entry into our accounting software. I have a macro that takes 
the information and converts it into a flat file.  Problem is that when 
someone else uses the spreadsheet they use the cut/paste rather than 
copy/paste to enter redundant information, which blows the references to the 
hidden worksheet.  This is also true for inserting and deleting rows.

I know how to disable the menu bars, however how do you disable the 
short-cut keys and the cut option when using the mouse menus?

5.how to keep a horizontal line in real time plot without disappearing 

Hello,

I'm simulating fish schooling in matlab by plotting real time using quiver. Now i want to make a horizontal line in the same subplot. My problem now is, that I have to use hold off is this subplot because otherwise i would see the trace the fish make, and i'm only interested in the new position, so the old position needs to disappear. But then my horizontal line also disappears. How can I update the position of my fish, without losing the horizontal line?
