    I forgot to mention that these are both Terminal Servers and it is recommended not to use the /pae switch. I would just like Windows to show the full amount of RAM. • 2. Printer setup in Win Server 2003
    Ok, a basic question here. Everything Ie read seems to suggest that you don have to setup a print server in Win Server 2003 if youe not connecting the printer directly to the server or a workstation, right? In my 15 workstation (soon to be 25) I have a printer setup in the network via a Fast Ethernet Print Server. Every workstation in the network can see the printer. The server can not. Why? I didn setup a print server role on the server because I didn think I had to. What am I missing?
  • 3. WPA and IAS Policies Help
    We have successfully setup IAS to authenticate our wireless clients. we auth the domain computer account first then when a user signs on it switches to the user credentials. This works great, however we would like to configure a policy to be able to allow access on our wirless network to users who are in our domain and on domain computers. We want to prevent a domain user from using outside equipment to access the network. i have tried setting up a IAS policy that used a anded stament stating domain computer AND domain users for access however this broke authentication for all users. Any advice
  • 4. apply permission to child objects
    Hello, I have a Windows 2000 network. I want to give a group permissions at the root, and have that group's permissions filter down to all child objects without losing any of the permissions that are all ready there. Some of the folders in the share do not inherit from parent ( I just inherited this network from the previous admin) but when you select "replace permission entries on all child objects......" it will replace all child object permissions with the ones that are on the root. I do not want this. SO, is there a way to have a group's permissions filter down to all child objects without losing any of the permissions that are all ready there? Thanks in advance!

Postby TWFyc2hhbCBaaG91 » Wed, 05 Nov 2008 17:35:01 GMT

Hi,

all in a sudden, I can't start the BITS service on both of my Windows 2003
SP2 X64 Enterprise servers. When I try to start it, the following log
appeared in the System Log:

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	Service Control Manager
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	7023
Date:		2008-11-4
Time:		16:11:08
User:		N/A
Computer:	SHECPORTAL01
Description:
The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service terminated with the
following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
 http://www.**--****.com/

the above event repeated in the System Log every 30 seconds. Could you help?

Is that the only event log error? Check the value of ImagePath is;

%SystemRoot%\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

and is type Reg_Expand_Sz

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS

Also make sure the value of ServiceDll is;

C:\WINDOWS\system32\qmgr.dll

and is type Reg_Expand_Sz

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters

and try re-registering.
