    Hi I installed Sharp AR-M208 drivers on Win2k server and tested by printing a page. The server is able to print the document. I then made the printer a share for everyone. Then on XP Add Printer Wizard I gave the network address of the printer as \\192.168.11.22\sharp. I get the error message "Windows cannot connect to the printer ....check name, etc." I searched on these keywords and there were very few relevant hits. Can someone please help me out? Thanks
  • 2. Windows Deployment Services Access Denied Error Message
    We previously had WDS working in native mode on a Windows Server 2003 SP1 server without problems. After installing Service Pack 2, we are having errors when assigning an unattend file to an image. I enabled tracing and the following appears in the WDSMMC.LOG file. [2952] 09:47:04: -> CImageProps::GetUnattendFileName [2952] 09:47:04: <- CImageProps::GetUnattendFileName=0 [2952] 09:47:04: <- CImageProps::GeneralProps_OnInit=0 [2952] 09:47:08: CImageProps:UnattendDialogProc about to open browse dialog. [2952] 09:47:13: -> UlStripWhitespace [2952] 09:47:13: <- UlStripWhitespace=0 [2952] 09:47:13: CUnattendDialog: Selected file 'E:\RemoteInstall\WdsClientUnattend\autounattend.xml'. This is using a domain admin account that has full access tot he server and files. Even giving the Everyone group full access results in the same error message. Any help woul dbe appreciated. Thank you.
  • 3. Printer Migration from W2k to W2k3
    I need to migrate some print queues from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003, however some of the print queues running on 2000 are using kernel mode drivers from the legacy NT4 environment. What is best practice, update the driver before the migration using printmig 3.1 or migrate the queues to 2003 and then updating the driver?
  • 4. Microsoft Error Reporting (dw20.exe) Installation Location
    I recently set up Windows Server 2003 R2 64-bit. After running Windows Update I found that Microsoft Error Reporting (dw20.exe) was installed in D:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DW Obviously one of the updates did not read the %CommonProgramFiles% parameter correct and placed the application on the wrong disk. Since I want my applications on Local Disk C: (C:\Program Files) I need a way to move the Microsoft Error Reporting Application to the preferred disk. Gran Johansson

Hi,

all in a sudden, I can't start the BITS service on both of my Windows 2003
SP2 X64 Enterprise servers. When I try to start it, the following log
appeared in the System Log:

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	Service Control Manager
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	7023
Date:		2008-11-4
Time:		16:11:08
User:		N/A
Computer:	SHECPORTAL01
Description:
The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service terminated with the
following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
 http://www.**--****.com/

the above event repeated in the System Log every 30 seconds. Could you help?

Is that the only event log error? Check the value of ImagePath is;

%SystemRoot%\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

and is type Reg_Expand_Sz

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS

Also make sure the value of ServiceDll is;

C:\WINDOWS\system32\qmgr.dll

and is type Reg_Expand_Sz

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters

and try re-registering.
