    I have a third party software that does not require instalation that loads fine but when you try and use a command like "insert" you get "class not registered" error. I have searched the knowledge base but no real help as it is specific to particular software. There are no events generated just get that error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    It's OK guys I found the answer already, it's a security update :( and what I describe is by design. If you've had similar problems you can find more details on this at KB article 268019 cya all STB >-----Original Message----- >Hi all > >I've just install W2K3 server and setup roaming profiles >for my users. In AD I've put the path of > >\\SERVER\Profiles\%username% > >This works fine and creates the correct folder for the >user profile. However only the user can access the >%username% folder even the domain admin (Me :P) can't >access it. In fact I can't even view the permisions on >the folder. The only way the Domain admin can see the >contents of the folder is to take permission, however >this then seems to force the user to use the local >profile and pops up a message at logon saying that the >security is incorrect. > >Help. • 3. Issue with printui.dll in Windows XP embedded
    I am trying to share a printer from command line using following command rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /Xs /n "HP Officejet 6200 series" "ShareName" "HP Officejet 6200 series-Share" attributes +Shared The above command is working fine in XP. If I run this same command in "Windows XP embedded", it shares the printer successfully but end up with a popup as "Operation Could not be completed" .Since I am executing this command from c# code, the executing is not moving to next line and application hangs up. The only difference I can see between two OS is, the "Windows XP embedded" has "printui.dll version 5.1.2600.1106" and "Windows XP" has version "5.1.2600.2180". Please help to resolve this issue.

Hi,

all in a sudden, I can't start the BITS service on both of my Windows 2003
SP2 X64 Enterprise servers. When I try to start it, the following log
appeared in the System Log:

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	Service Control Manager
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	7023
Date:		2008-11-4
Time:		16:11:08
User:		N/A
Computer:	SHECPORTAL01
Description:
The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service terminated with the
following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
 http://www.**--****.com/

the above event repeated in the System Log every 30 seconds. Could you help?

Is that the only event log error? Check the value of ImagePath is;

%SystemRoot%\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

and is type Reg_Expand_Sz

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS

Also make sure the value of ServiceDll is;

C:\WINDOWS\system32\qmgr.dll

and is type Reg_Expand_Sz

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters

and try re-registering.
