It looks like they cleaned up the TOC a bit and moved all that stuff under
"Win32 and COM Development."

Even so, it appears that the TOC won't sync up. For example if you search on
WMCreateEditor, the correct TOC doesn't appear.

Hi Becky,

The KB:896096 hotfix didn't change anything, it must be normal since we

Here is our mail for further information on this issue.

3.Memory leak since we use Format SDK 9.5 instead of Format SDK 9

Hello,

We have an important memory leak problem since we use Format SDK 9.5
instead of Format SDK 9.
Our application runs 24 hours a day on our clients machines, and creates
thousands of files per day, so far, without any problem with Format SDK 9.
We simply installed the 9.5 sdk version and recompiled.
In three days, and after having created about 15,000 files, our program
memory usage went up from 130 MB to 1,5 GB!
That's a loss of about 90kB per file.
We suppose that the following sequence
m_pIWriter->EndWriting():
m_pIWriterAdvanced->Release();
m_pIWriter->Release();
no longer frees the memory.

On a client machine, with our application, we installed Windows Media player
9, there wasn't any problem.
Next we installed the version 10 and the problem appeared immediately.

Is this problem known? Is there a solution?
Thanks in advance.

4.what is the basic difference betwn Encoder 9 and format sdk 9.5

Can format sdk 9.5 able to convert all the possible format into wmv which is
done by encoder.
Please help me.

5.WME 9 crashes after installing WMF 9.5 SDK / WMP 10

After installing the WM Format 9.5 SDK WM Encoder 9 crashes. Previously had
the WMF9 SDK and no problems. Crash occurs after selecting 'finish' when
going through the file conversion 'wizard'. It crashes even if I don't have
'being converting when I click Finish' checked off.

Machine is WinXP Pro SP2.

Crash info shows the error as occuring in
msdmo.dll (ver 4.90.2490.0) offset 00002ef9

Occurs with audio and video files.

I've tried reinstalling the WMF9/9.5 SDK, WMEncoder, WMPlayer10. Any idea
how to fix this? Luckily the cmd line encoder util seems to still work (have
a major milestone this week), but not being able to use the GUI encoder tool
is tad anoying/disturbing.
