I tried to get this driver installed xp can not find it. I have tried the search function and typed in every location listed to find this file and still it cannot install driver/or can not find it. is that now place to down load these drivers? this driver is needed to access a memory card in a video cam. I have installed the software that came with camera. ever since the intall of service pack sp2 I have trouble with windows xp finding drivers

Hi everyone, I am desperate. I cannot log in to the windows xp professional box. it reads "administrator" as the user name and asks for a password in which i don't know and cant remember. I cannot get in AT ALL and just paid bookoo bucks for this laptop in which i have absolutely no access to. any help would be so appreciated.

Following a system shutdown imposed by low battery power now computer fails to boot up at all - aborts seconds after windows screen comes up - get a blank screen - occasionally beeps a few times but can't see what's happening then just goes 'dead'. When trying to boot from boot set up disks - after disk 2 it gives an error msg "file usbstor.sys is corrupted - set up failed" and then just stops. Any enlightenment would be helpful. Cheers. Trish

5.USBSTOR.SYS usb hangup on win2k sp5
i bought a USB->IDE cable to plug a hard drive to a USB port. when i plug the cable into the USB port, the machine instantly freezes and i loose control, need to hard reset. I use a win2k SP5 + all the latest updates. the same device on a XP pro machine is recognized seamlessly and its driver is USBSTOR.SYS (\windows\system\drivers) this driver exists under win2k however, it seems to hang the machine for this particular device. Camera, webcam, memory stick works pretty well however and are recognized. Driver version is 5.0.2195.1 and file version is 5.00.2195.6655 This file is signaled as the latest update available. Thank you for your help
