  • 1. Runtime error and XP2
    I get the following error message everytime a popup ads occurs. It happens mostly when I am clicking on a link to another sight. Runtime error! Program C:\Program files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info. (It is so bad that I had to go to another computer to send this as my Xp2 update would not allow this box to pop up!) Appreciate the help. Mike
  • 2. Windows XP SP2 CD
    I had to order the SP2 CD because when I tried to install from updates it failed- several times. Now for some reason, I put in the CD and the files are extracted but nothing happens after that. I even tried to install using add/remove programs. Could there be a problem with my hard drive? I typed in the support address for the disk but page keeps coming up unavailable.
  • 3. My 120GB hard drive is now 8580MB and has no cache
    my hard drive is undetectable and dose'nt boot up with any CD or Floppy
  • 4. Can Not boot regular or safe mode
    I am receiving the following message when trying to boot: A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer Error code 0x80040057. I just sit stuck on the windows blue screen. Any ideas.
  • 5. How XP assigns IRQ?
    Hello, I would like to know how XP assigns IRQ for each devices that are on the ACPI enabled system. Let me explain my problem, I have a system where IRQ 7 & 11 are free/available. When I plug 2 16-bit PCMCIA cards in its slots, OS finds it and assigns 11 for one card and either irq 3 or 4 for another card that conflicts with COM ports. why OS assigns irq 3/4 even though IRQ 7 is available. I could get rid of this conflicts if I do the following steps, 1. Assign IRQ 7 for COM port and boot the system. Insert one PCMCIA card. 2. Assign IRQ 4 back to COM port and boot the system. Insert the second card. Now XP assigns IRQ 7 for the second one and no conflicts. Why its so? Is it a BIOS issue or OS issue? Any soln? I tried with different types of 16-bit PCMCIA card from different vendors. Still the same problem. When I tried to reinstall the OS with two PCMCIA card inserted, I get blue screen. my internet connection was working fine till today. I am on a network and all 
the other computers on the network are able to access the internet except 
mine which gives the following error message when i try to access a website.

"FORBIDDEN
YOU WERE DENIED ACCESS BECAUSE:
ACCESS DENIED BY ACCESS CONTROL LIST."

What could the problem be and how can i solve it?

Tell us about the network, is this a peer to peer network or are you 
connected to a Domain?  Have you contacted your network administrator about 
this issue as it sounds as though the admin may have made this change.

Please take this question and provide the above information to the 
windowsxp.network_web newsgroup.  NOTE: if your access rights were changed 
by the network administrator, only the administrator can restore them.

2.C# .NET(.NET framework 2) UI is getting freezed in xp embedded 

The same .exe (C# code) is working fine in PC but not working in xp 
embedded. UI is getting freezed and not getting repainted after some time. 
Please let me know what can be the reason behind this. We are able to catch 
the UI events through SPY, so it is in running state, but UI is not getting 
updated or repainted.
     How we can do the remote debugging in windows XP embedded system 
through the PC? Not able to get the success on it.

3..net applications running on .net cf getting OUT oF MEMORY exception 

Hi,

I am getting an OUT OF MEMORY application when I am running my scanner
.net application on mobile device.

Does any one experienced this??   I even tried to increase the program
memory, still getting that error.

4.Cant access .net website 

Hi in need of some help urgently!!

My work has a website which enables me to use inotes to pick up and send 
work e-mail from any internet connection, i tried this on my home connection 
and it worked fine, then tried again the next night and all i get is page can 
not be displayed, seems to time out and in bottom left corner i get a ip 
addess and not normal web address it is looking for, site is fine from any 
other connection so i guess its my settings somewhere, pls pls help!

i downloaded and installed advanced networking pack for windows xp. now i
have another user on my computer 'asp.net'.



what is this and the advanced networking pack? do i need it or can i get rid
of it?



also, same question for .net framework.... i.e do i need ti or can i
uninstall it?
