  • 1. Page manipulation at 4k boundary
Is there a way in the Windows NT API, in either user or kernel mode, to manipulate the memory map at a 4096 byte granularity instead of 65536 bytes? I don't want to read from CR3 and manually manipulate the page tables... XP has some nice undocumented API function names that sound interesting, but I can't find any unauthorized documentation on them... Melissa
  • 2. Nvidia Driver nightmares - Help!
I have a Packard Bell PC with a Nvidia Geforce4 420 GO onboard graphic processor. I have installed Sims 2, which keeps crashing shortly after starting the game. The Readme file for the game recommends updating the drivers for this card, which I have tried to do, but it will not work. The system keeps reverting to the generic Windows XP drivers, even though it says the install of the new drivers has been successful. Is there any way round this problem? Can I wipe the existing drivers and set the PC to use the new ones from that point? I have tried uninstalling the Nvidia package from Add/Remove Program, device manager, and from the driver self-install program, but it just reverts to the generic ones when you reboot, and try and install the new ones. Am I doing something wrong here??? Help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Ian
  • 3. 'ghosts' in the device manager
Having unsuccessfully tried to install a scanner in Windows XP with CD provided by manufacturer, I have given this up and there is no Imaging Device on my PC. But I have 12 'ghost' "unknown device" in Imaging Devices. How can I get rid of them? I've tried Safe Mode and Power Cycle as suggested by the manufacturer, but all to no avail.
  • 4. Pen top drivers
I upgraded my pen top Fujitsu 3400 to windows xp and found that my tablet no longer has pen top drivers. Does anyone know if there are any available for this application?
  • 5. CD driver corrupt or missing?
I recently reinstalled windows XP, and for some reason, I cannot install the generic windows XP CD driver. I have a Samsung CDRW SW-240B and a Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616T. Neither of them come with a specific driver, they just use the default windows one. The driver I need does come up in add new hardware wizard as being compatible, but when I try and install it, I get the error message: "Driver is corrupt or missing". Any help would be most appreciated. C Davis

3.Can't install Scanner LG 600P-EPP, UI3RD_32.dll missing

Dear All
An installation problem
My System: Toshiba laptop, satellite 1905-277,
Windows XP Home Edition

I tried to install the LG 600P-EPP flatbed scanner.
Installation consists of three programs namely:
Xerox TextBridge
MGI Photo Suite
Driver TWAIN
I choose to install all.
At the end it gives the following error message:
windows name: TBridge.exe error
Can't find UI3RD_32.dll

I searched the installation CD for the said file but couldn't find.
What should I do to install it.
Also I thought TWAIN is a brand name but seams that it is a general
technical word and has something to do with Scanners. Would be happy if you
could guide me to find out the meaning as well.

Very Sincerely Yours
