  • 2. System restart- driver problem
You can stop the automatically restarts by doing the following: go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->System Open de Advanced TAB and click on the settings button in the StartUp and Recovery Settings box. You must deselect the "automatically restart" in the System Failure" box. Now you get the well known BSOD and you can get more information from that. • 3. Enabling devices programatically
Wondering how to enable devices and take exclusive access (ideally) of floppy disk drive, DVD-ROM, USB etc. with the following PC setup ... The infrared port, the floppy disk drive, DVD-ROM drive and USB devices are disabled under Windows XP; they are not disabled in the laptop's BIOS. In the case of the floppy and DVD-ROM drives, it is actually the floppy disk controller and secondary IDE channel that are disabled. Was considering a solution involving VB calling windows API's or ??? Any help appreciated Cheers

Boot in safe mode and select show hidden devices in device manager. Do you see the original device now? In the device > manager I have a device card 'Network Card #2'. It used to be just 'Network > Card'. 3.Can't install Scanner LG 600P-EPP, UI3RD_32.dll missing

Dear All
An installation problem
My System: Toshiba laptop, satellite 1905-277,
Windows XP Home Edition

I tried to install the LG 600P-EPP flatbed scanner.
Installation consists of three programs namely:
Xerox TextBridge
MGI Photo Suite
Driver TWAIN
I choose to install all.
At the end it gives the following error message:
windows name: TBridge.exe error
Can't find UI3RD_32.dll

I searched the installation CD for the said file but couldn't find.
What should I do to install it.
Also I thought TWAIN is a brand name but seams that it is a general
technical word and has something to do with Scanners. Would be happy if you
could guide me to find out the meaning as well.

Very Sincerely Yours
