  • 1. Problems porting WDM to Vista RC1
I'm trying to port my WDM driver to Vista RC1 but I crashes during driver initialization. Using Windbg, I narrowed it down to a RtlIntegerToUnicode system call. This function works perfectly in W2K or XP. Did MS do anything different in this function? I also can't get my KdPrint statement to be displayed. John

Fix it John, you're a smart guy, or check with Mr. setupapi.log, he might be able to tell you what's wrong with your installation. Happy Holloween! • 3. OnBoard Audio Device Drivers won't install
Hi everyone! Here's the problem. I have recently reinstalled my WinXP Pro and have lost the CD with the regular udio, video and USB drivers. I have managed to find everything on the internet, but the problem is that the audio driver wont install. The wizard keep giving me the following message: The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name. The driver I have found is for the on-board audio (SiS 7012) for motherboard ECS P4S5A/DX+. I'd really like my PC to make sounds again =))) Could anyone help me with this..?
  • 4. Driver won't load in XP
Hoping someone can help. I've got a USB device that works fine on one machine with some specific drivers I have. However, when I plug it into my main PC, XP just will not recognize the driver as belonging to the device. I've verified that the hardware IDs all show up correctly and the ones XP shows me are the same as what show in the .inf file. I've tried everything I can think of (removing the device manually, deleting all oem*.inf files, removing the usb vid entries in the registry to let them rebuild, etc.) at this point and can't figure out what XP has a problem with on it. Any ideas on how to track down the compatibility issue? Is there some utility that might clue me in to the problem? Thanks in advance.

3.Can't install Scanner LG 600P-EPP, UI3RD_32.dll missing

Dear All
An installation problem
My System: Toshiba laptop, satellite 1905-277,
Windows XP Home Edition

I tried to install the LG 600P-EPP flatbed scanner.
Installation consists of three programs namely:
Xerox TextBridge
MGI Photo Suite
Driver TWAIN
I choose to install all.
At the end it gives the following error message:
windows name: TBridge.exe error
Can't find UI3RD_32.dll

I searched the installation CD for the said file but couldn't find.
What should I do to install it.
Also I thought TWAIN is a brand name but seams that it is a general
technical word and has something to do with Scanners. Would be happy if you
could guide me to find out the meaning as well.

Very Sincerely Yours
