  • 2. Network print issue ... HELP!!
Ok this is a Windows2000 Active Directory environment. I have a color printer (hosted by a w2k server domain controller) on my network that all client w2k workstations are only able to print a single page at a time. Meaning If its a 5 page document I can see the server spool all pages but the printer only prints out 1. I've tried everything with no luck. If I grant the user domain admin rights the entire print job DOES complete!!.. obvisouly we cant leave that in place .. I've gone to the printer security properties and set "everyone" to full rights .. also no luck. Anyone have any ideas. I've applied sp4 to both the server and the workstations. I've installed and reinstalled the drivers. Its a HP DeskJet 5800 using its onboard Ethernet .. tcp/ip.. Please someone put me out of my misery.

  • 4. Default Printer won't stick on T.S.
A Win2k T.S. user's default printer stays set correctly when opening a session on the users normal pc but not on other pc's, even if logged on to other pc's under their own user name. The correct printer seems to be set in the HKEY_USERS branch of the registry. Any ideas please. Paul
  • 5. PCL and Postscript Printer Drive
We would like to know what kind of document can only be printed by using Postscript Printer Drive but not the PCL one ? Is there any problem in printing PDF files with PCL printer drive ? For the same document, does it take longer time to print with Postscript Printer Drive than PCL one ? Thanks

HP Laserjet 2200 on W2k3 server and NT client.

I have just moved the last of our printers from there old NT server to a
Windows 2003 server. I have one NT client that cannot connect to their
printer receiving a message that the server does not have the correct
drivers for her environment. I tried to add the NT drivers to the server as
additional drivers but could never get them to install. When I directed the
wizard to the location of the NT drivers I got a message that there were no
suitable drivers in that area. The same thing happened when I tried to
install the drivers locally on the NT 4.0 client. These are drivers that I
just downloaded from HP. Any one out there have any idea what can be done.
I got the HP 4M+ in down the hall to work on this client but the HP 2200dn
is giving me a lot of grief.

any help is appreciated

Kernel mode print drivers are blocked from installing on Server 2003 by

Disable the Disallow installation of printers using kernel-mode drivers
policy on the server

I have a new notebook (HP zd7000) with Win XP Pro SP2. When I try to install

JetDirect print server) from the CD it fails with a message about a "severe

For some reason the "Add Printer" dialog won't allow me to enter the
printer's IP address. I have to install the software from the printers
driver CD. It detects the printer on the network, installs drivers,
establishes a connection port, etc. Then I can add the printer. Except
under Win XP Pro SP2 it crashes with a "severe error".

This same printer and software CD has worked with Win95, Win2K, Win XP Home
SP1. (I've used Linux and Solaris boxes on my LAN with the same printer.)

HP Tech. Support suspects that this is a problem with SP2. We turned off
the firewall, but that didn't make any difference.

Has anyone gotten HP's LaserJet 2200 software to install on XP Pro with SP2?
