Does anybody still have a copy of this? It appeared on a coverdisk (AU, or maybe Acorn Computing) but I'm unable to access the CD coverdisk it's on as ArcFS is doing nasty things to the system (And I'm not sure why). TIA, Rob

  • 4. Website suggestion please
Hi - new to this and something like 10 years out of touch so please bear with me. I'm looking to run some old BBC Micro games natively, and having a play with BBC Basic again. I used to be (and this is nothing to be proud of) pretty good at programming a BBC micro and used one (and an Acorn Electron) up to getting an Amiga in 1990. I'm now into PCs and particularly Linux. Trouble is that I've not seen an emulator good enough to run stuff like Revs. The simplest way is just to dust off the old BBC but I've not got enough room. So questions are: 1) How compatible are modern day Acorns with BBC machines? 2) How do modern Acorn machines compare with Sun? I'm still pottering about on an UltraSparc5 which I'd be loathed to swap. 3) Do Acorns run Linux? Any advice greatly appreciated - I never knew what happened around 1990 - somehow the Archimedes got left behind by the Atari ST, the Amiga and the PC - ultimately of course the PC won. Cheers Rob

in mission 6 of tek you have to escort three transporters through
loads of enemy troops by only using a ghost, cossack and a couple of
troopers, how do you do it?

this level?

2.Tek buglet/cheat

I did a google search and could no find this.

In my copy of Tek there is a small bug.
When you remove an item from the list of things a factory, the amount
of cash added to your money is the value of the first item on the list,
not the value of the item removed.

e.g. you start off with 1000cash, start the building of a Ghost tank,
and then start the building of e.g. 5 troopers. You will then have
cash of 150. (1000-(500+5*70)). Now remove the troopers from the list,
each one removed will give you 500 cash, giveing you a total of 5*500+150
=2650 cash. Rinse and repeat.

Now lets see if I can complete level 5.

Martin.

3.TEK crash theory

I wonder if rather than RISC OS 4 being the problem it is something to
do with disc access speed? Most crashes seem to follow disc access.
Just an idea.

4.TEK repeatedly crashing

On RISC OS 4 or Select TEK seems to be crashing an awful lot. I'm not
sure if it was ever designed for RISC OS 4 but I've completed it and it
never seemed to crash this much although it was quite often.
I've no idea what the problem is, I thought it might be something to do
with having too many units but the level I'm playing at the moment
doesn't have many at all and when I try to produce another one, I get a
blank line of text at the top of the screen and the pointer turns into
a mouse representation with a 'Y' over the left hand button. On
pressing the mouse the game returns to the desktop.
It's a big shame that work on TEK has finished as just making it more
stable might encourage people to play it over and over again with
different strategies and might even attract a few more people to buy
it.

5.Freelancer Mission 3

After leaving Willard Station, I'm heading toward
California Minor, in the walkthrough it says that when
heading to the junp gate I am supposed to get attacked by
a group of Rheinland fighters. What jump gate amI
heading for, and where are the ships. I have explored
the entire map of this sector, followed the trade lanes
back to where I entered the sector (the jump gate) and
there are no Rheinland ships anywhere. The only ships
around are three neutral ships, if I engage them the
mission ends and I have to restart. How do I intiate the
attack so that I can move on with the game
