  • 1. Microsoft 16K RAM Card
I Just acquired a 16K RAM Card for my Apple, which will mean it will no longer be a 48K machine but a whopping 64K machine! (WOW! When I think that the PC runs 512 Meg!) I assume it plugs into Slot 0 and the ribbon cable plugs into one of the ram chips, and the removed chip fits into the empty slot on the card? (I figured this out by deduction by looking at the way the card and the cable fell into place.) Anyone know where I can get a copy (download) of the instruction manual for this card? Thanks, ~Robert.

WorkStation card Pinout/Cable info (for Google)

Amazingly despite many requests, I can't find this information anywhere. So
here we go:

8 Pin Mini-Din Plug (Apple serial defined below)
-------------------

1 HSKo Out
2 HSKi In
3 TXD- Out
4 GND
5 RXD- In
6 TXD+ Out
7 nc
8 RXD+ In

solder view (or socket view)

           1 2
           + +

        3+ +4 +5

           + + +
           6 7 8

Molex 10 pin connector.

(Top of card) (red wire usually goes here, into Molex 10 pin, not folded).

1 2
3 4
5 6 (edge of card)
7 8
9 10

Note: This is my own interpretation, not 'correct' but just as a guide to
where the wires go.

Molex - Socket

1 4
9 5
8 3
2 1
4 2
6 8
3 7
7 6

No connection to shield as far as I can trace.

Hopefully these are correct!

Richard

1.Pinouts of "Loopback Cable" for PC Compatibility card?

2.9pin RGB pinout to 15pin RGB pinout cable?

Hopefully someone knows any easy answer for this?

I'm looking for a cable that has a 9pin RGB end and other other end is a
15pin RGB end which will work with a IIgs computer. I hope what I'm
explaining is not to confusing.

I just recently came into a 15 inch commodore monitor which I would like to
use with the IIgs computer however the pinout on the monitor is 9pin and the
IIgs is 15 pin anyone know of a specific cable which can be purchased?

Also, have a Magnavox monitor but I think I just need a 9pin to 15pin
adapter and the two cables can be hooked up on this monitor.

Any thoughts or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

3.9pin RGB pinout to 15pin RGB pinout cable?

I think most Commodore monitors used digital RGB (something like CGA)
instead of analog RGB which the IIgs supplies -- making them
incompatible.

The Apple Extended 80 Column RGB card (for the IIe) generates digital
RGB. I then have a Video7 Mappler (though I think the circuit is not
that complicated) that converts from the 15-pin connector from the
card to a 9-pin connector that can directly be hooked up to a
Commodore monitor.

4.Apple Multiple Scan 1705 Display cable pinout wanted

Hi all,

I've got Apple Multiple Scan 1705 Display, but the previous owner
was a "PC person", so display comes with PC-style SVGA cable
(hi-density DB-15 triple row on both ends).

Does anyone have the exact pinout for its original cable? The
service manual (multiple_scan_1705_display.pdf) seems to be
removed from everywhere, but maybe someone can provide me with
full wiring schematic of Mac cable for that monitor?

The second question: User Guide (0308890AMS1705UG.pdf) document
refers to the included 'Display Software', but it's not clear to
me whether that software is of any use for Quadra-950 running
MacOS v7.6.1? Is it some kind of 'driver', or just ColorSync
profile and/or ControlStrip modules, similar to ones that are
already contained in MacOS?

Regards,
Artur
