  • 1. CPYF using INCREL parm in CL
I have a CL program that I copy certain records from 1 lib to another daily. I use CPYF and the Include records by field test (INCREL parm) and only copy records whose field value equals a certain value. This value is 5 characters long, left-just. The values are: 'AA ' 'AA1 ' 'AA2 ' I only want to copy 'AA', but the CPYF command copies all the above records, not just 'AA' See my statement below. The &FLD is the DDS name and the &VAL is hardcoded to 'AA' CPYF FROMFILE(&LIB/&FILE) + TOFILE(&LIB2/&FILE) MBROPT(*ADD) + CRTFILE(*YES) INCREL((*IF &FLD *EQ &VAL)) + ERRLVL(*NOMAX) I looked on IBM to see if there is a fix for this, but couldnlt find anything. Is there a way around this problem? I am at V5R2 OS/400. Thanks in advance, Phillip
  • 2. printf does not work properly from RPG
Hi, When I call printf() from a RPG program, the format-string is printed to the console but printf() does not respect the new-line character (\n). I use the following prototype to call printf() from my RPG program: D printf... D PR 10I 0 extproc('printf') D i_fmtString * value options(*string) And here is how I call it: rc = printf('\n\n*** Hello World ***\n\n'); rc = printf('\n\n*** Hello World ***\n\n'); rc = printf('\n\n*** Hello World ***\n\n'); Finally this is what gets printed to standard out: \n\n*** Hello World ***\n\n\n\n*** Hello World ***\n\n\n\n*** Hello World *** \n\n Press ENTER to end terminal session. Any ideas what's going wrong? Thomas Raddatz.
  • 3. FTP to AS400
I have an old(ish) AS400 that i have installed at home on a LAN. i have (now) managed to connect it to the network, but am unable to transfer files to it via FTP. the FTP server is up and running on the 400, and will allow me to login, but no matter what FTP command i try and enter (on the pc FTP client), i always get the message: 501 unknown extension in database filename. this means, i can't effectively do anything (via) FTP with the box. i have a savf i desperately need to transfer to the box, but seem unable to do so. also, someone told me i should be able to get windows explorer to see the 400 as a network drive. how do i go about doing this? mt pc is running windows 200. does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be??? thanks.

ToolBox JDBC driver question

WAS use ToolBox JDBC driver connect a local as/400 java application to a
remote as/400 (V5R2) of own a IASP(independent auxiliary storage pool ). if
the remote database name is "test", the WAS can start this instance . But
when the remote database name is "test.cn.ibm.com" , WAS can't start this
instance. No IASP at the remote as/400, the instance always successfully
start.
RDB entry of the local as/400,
  Relational Database Remote Location
 test test.cn.ibm.com

I can connect this remote as/400 by run STRSQL command on the local as400.
And create a test java program of use ToolBox JDBC connect this remote
database by use "test" or "test.cn.ibm.com" ,both of them are successfully .
So I guess the WAS can't get the right remote database name of as/400 of
own a IASP by ToolBox JDBC driver.
