Hi all! I'm trying to set up an IBM 4247-003 dot-matrix printer for our AS machine and I installed a nic in the printer. The IP settings was done via the panel. When I try to access it via the built-in web interface it asks for a username and password. Have tried with root/pass which I found in the manual but to no avail. What is the correct name/password OR how do I get rid of it? Thanx! Stefan

  • 5. RPGLE vs SQLRPGLE which one runs faster? more efficient?
i am sure this has probably been posted before, but i didnt get any hits and i am sure there are white papers...but sometimes real world scenarios are better than the lab designed ones. has anyone taken the same app, like just a print program and wrote it in both RPGLE and SQLRPGLE to see which one runs faster??? i could probably see SQL being faster for maybe more than 3 files, but if you used the cycle in RPG and had an a file defined as IP and maybe chained to 2 other files to get some other fields...i dont see the SQL being more efficient since its making external calls(judging by the compile listing).

ToolBox JDBC driver question

WAS use ToolBox JDBC driver connect a local as/400 java application to a
remote as/400 (V5R2) of own a IASP(independent auxiliary storage pool ). if
the remote database name is "test", the WAS can start this instance . But
when the remote database name is "test.cn.ibm.com" , WAS can't start this
instance. No IASP at the remote as/400, the instance always successfully
start.
RDB entry of the local as/400,
  Relational Database Remote Location
 test test.cn.ibm.com

I can connect this remote as/400 by run STRSQL command on the local as400.
And create a test java program of use ToolBox JDBC connect this remote
database by use "test" or "test.cn.ibm.com" ,both of them are successfully .
So I guess the WAS can't get the right remote database name of as/400 of
own a IASP by ToolBox JDBC driver.
