  • 3. Changes to Machine.Config to default to WAP output
Hi there - thanks in advance. I'm developing an app using asp.net mobile web controls. Trying to test it using yospace smartphone emulator 4.0. My problem is that when I send my request from the emulator, on lots of phones I get a 406 ...its expecting wml and getting html. Example is a SonyEricsson t610. I found the t610 in device update 4 though - so MMIT should know to return wap to it right? Hmmmm... in deviceupdate.config, theres these lines for the T610: preferredRenderingMime = "application/xhtml+xml" preferredRenderingType = "xhtml-basic" My questions are : a) is it more likely that the guys that implemented the emulator got their support wrong (and the T610 really does support xhtml)? or did MS get it wrong? [[or is my understanding wrong!?]] b) how can I fix it so that the emulators work for my demo? Thanks so much for any help. Salo.
  • 4. Basic pages not displaying
System: XP Pro IIS5.1 ASP.Net SDK 1.1 Applied Mobile Device Update Problem: Have just started asp.net mobile coding and getting .wml files to display ok in phone simulators. However, I cannot get even basic .aspx files to display in either MME3.0(Unable to display content) or OpenWave Phone Simulator 6.2.2 (just displays source code). Example of basic .aspx file: <%@ Page language="c#" Inherits="System.Web.UI.MobileControls.MobilePage" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="Mobile" Namespace="System.Web.UI.MobileControls" Assembly="System.Web.Mobile"%> <mobile:Form id=Form1 runat="server"> <mobile:Label id=Test Runat="Server">Hello, Mobile World</mobile:Label> </mobile:Form> I do not have Visual Studio so I am using notepad to create the files. Is this a configuration problem, device adapter problem or what? Any help would be appreciated. TIA Per

1.Compile DLL/Object doesn't support this property or method

Hello all.

First off, I'm not a VB programmer. I'm a Java programmer. I have been
asked by my company to create a new application based on an existing
application we already have. The existing application was written in
VB6, VB.NET, and C#.

I have made a change to a DLL (in VB6) in the old application (I added
a function) and selected "File, Make myfile.dll" It appears to compile
and create the DLL okay, but when I try to use the new function, I get
the following error:

Object doesn't support this property or method: myfile.Function()

If you need any more information I'll gladly provide it, but I'm not
sure how much you need. I'm 100% sure I'm doing something wrong, or
I'm missing a step. Any help is greatly appreciated.

2.VB6 DLL's compiled on XP, deployed on NT4

Does anyone have any research, or links that I can refer to regarding
compiling VB6 DLL's on XP, but deploying them to NT4-SP6? I am told that
this is supported, but I would prefer more then hearsay. These DLL's are
placed in MTS package, and provide the middle tier of our web application.
No MTS transactions are used, and late binding is used.

3.Compiling VB6 DLLs in Vista

Here is probably as good a place as any (while theoretically ~.vb.com is the
more appropriate site). This group and ~.vb.general.discussion have perhaps
the most activity.

So what did M$ break this time? <g>

4.VB6 - Compile error: error in loading dll

I inherited this VB program from the former employee, I don't know much
about VB. I updated a line of code and try to compile the code and I got an
error "compile error: error in loading dll" and it points to the word
".Recordset". I tried to re-register DAO351.

Any help would be appreciated it thanks

5.Can't compile a VB6 Dll that contains a reference to ADODB

I have an old dll that I'm trying to recompile. There is a project reference
to Ado 2.7. When I compile, I get an Automation Error - no more detail than
that. I have a test script that I can debug the dll against which is an asp
page. When I run the project in debug mode, the compiler dies on a line with
"Set cmd = New ADODB.Command". I ran MDAC checker and I have the files for
2.7 on my machine (XP sp1), and as I mentioned I do have a project reference
to MS Active X Data Objects Library 2.7 .

I'm stumped, help!
