    I made a page today that uses ICallbackEventHandler. I got to work, but with problems. 1. it is slow, it does not seem any faster than reloading the page. 2. the first time I fire the event it works fine, I get a result back from the server, but if I try to fire it again too soon it does not work. Q. am I supposed to be able to rebuild controls with ICallbackEventHandler? I have a table built at loading, am I supposed to be able to alter that table with ICallbackEventHandler?
  • 3. Force Download PocketIE and Mobile Browsers
    Hi All, I am writing an ASP.NET 2.0 Web Application that users can buy and download pictures, songs, etc. I have a page that servers as the download page that fetches the file to be downloaded from a physical path on my server,pops up the Save As dialog and using HTTP Response downloads the file. It works great off desktop IE, but when i try the same page from PocketIE it just fetches the image and displays it in IE. How can i make it popup the Save As dialog in PocketIE? any ideas or maybe another way that this could be reached? Here's the code i am using: if (!IsPostBack) { string SessionId = ""; SessionId = Request.QueryString["id"]; if (SessionId != "") { FileStream fs; string szFilePath = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["Path"]; string szFileName = GetFileName(SessionId); szFilePath = szFilePath + szFileName; fs = File.Open(szFilePath, FileMode.Open); byte[] byteBuffer = new byte[fs.Length]; fs.Read(byteBuffer, 0, (int)fs.Length); fs.Close(); Response.AddHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + szFileName); Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream"; Response.BinaryWrite(byteBuffer); Response.End(); } } } } Thanks a lot for your help really appreciated Mustafa Rabie

Invalid mime-type

Postby info » Sat, 04 Oct 2003 23:55:25 GMT

Hi together,

I developed a Internet Application with Visual Studio .NET 2003
for mobile phones. The Application is running on Windows Server
2003 Web-Edition.

Now there's a problem. When I use the OpenWave Emulator
the page is displayed correctly. When I use my mobile phone
(Samsung SGH-S300M) then I'll get the error message

"Page could not be displayed. Invalid mime-type"

Could anyone tell me, where I could locate and resolve
the problem?

Thanks a lot,

Thorsten Huber

2.Schema type information provided by IXmlSerializable is invalid: Type 'string' is not declared

I've added the System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSchemaProvider attribute to my
class to customize the schema. Some of the datatypes in my schema are
strings, but I'm getting an error that string type is not declared. Can
anyone show me how to do this properly? I've included the code to my schema
below:

[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSchemaProvider("MySchema")]
public class AnyTextData2 : AnyTextData,
System.Xml.Serialization.IXmlSerializable
{
    public AnyTextData2()
    {
    }

    public static System.Xml.XmlQualifiedName
MySchema(System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaSet xs)
    {
        System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer schemaSerializer =
            new
System.Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer(typeof(System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchema));
        System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchema s = AnyTextData2.Schema;
        xs.XmlResolver = new System.Xml.XmlUrlResolver();
        xs.Add(s);
        return new System.Xml.XmlQualifiedName("AnyTextData2");//, ns);
    }
    private static System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchema Schema
    {
        get
        {
            /*
            <s:complexType name="AnyTextData2">
            <s:simpleContent>
            <s:extension base="s:string">
            <s:attribute name="Attribute" type="s:string" />
            </s:extension>
            </s:simpleContent>
            </s:complexType>
            */
            System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchema pSchema = new
System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchema();
            pSchema.ElementFormDefault =
System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Qualified;

            //<s:complexType name="CData">
            System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaComplexType pComplexType = new
System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaComplexType();
            pComplexType.Name = "AnyTextData2";

            //<xs:simpleContent>
            System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaSimpleContent pSimpleContent = new

System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaAttribute();
            pAttribute.Name = "Attribute";
            pAttribute.SchemaTypeName = new
System.Xml.XmlQualifiedName("string");//"s:string"
            pExtension.Attributes.Add(pAttribute);

            pSimpleContent.Content = pExtension;

            pComplexType.ContentModel = pSimpleContent;

            pSchema.Items.Add(pComplexType);
            return pSchema;

4.Conversion from type DBNull to type String is invalid

Hello,

When reading data from a SqlClient.SqlDataReader in VB.NET 2005, I want to
display fiels that sometimes are empty.

sUser = CStr(rdUser("Name") & Space(1) & CStr(rdUser("First_Name")

When the First_Name of a user is empty, I get an error telling me type
DBNull cannot be converted to String.
Is there a way of solving this problem?

Many thanks,

Michel
