  • 1. Tell me how you do it, work foolproof in V8
Suppose you have a seriously complex drawing, one person now and then needs to update the drawing/content/drafted elements. How do you make sure no matter what happens, everytime someone else opens the drawing, he can make exactly the same plot without checking all possible settings?! Tell me how you do it without a working around! Kind regards Walter (Complex drawing: models, sheetfile, selfreferences from other models in same drawing, constant rendered views, wireframe saved view, overrides for levelsymbologys, masks, clippings, different scalings, text over filled regions, you name it: what you feel makes the file tricky and complex is in it.) NB The plotter settings are constant anyway, thats not an issue in this case.
  • 2. sqlreview ordering of records
I am using the review functionality in microstation to look at the data records which are connected to the mslink which is on a specific element. For one mslink there can be multiple records returned do to a number of joins that I perform in the select statement. Here is my question: Is there any way to force 'review' to display these records in a certain order? Can I use ORDER BY in the select statement that is in mscatalog? If not, is there some other way to do it? Nathan Bullock
  • 3. Text Style Justification v.08.05.01.25
Problem 1 - Justification can not be "unchecked" or left off when creating a Text Style. Problem 2 - Justification can not be "unchecked" or left off when changing existing text to a Text Style defined in our *.dgnlib. This has been previously addressed (at Bentley discussion group), but it does not appear to have been resolved in the release that I am using v.08.05.01.25, nor in the latest 08.05.02.25. Is Bentley going to resolve this, or will we be forced to create individual Text Styles for every possible justification setting? I trust that Bentley wants MicroStation to be a timesaving tool, not a time waster. Changing existing text to a new Text Style with every possible justification setting seems like a big time waster to me.
  • 4. What is the size limit for DXF/DWG import ?
When importing large DXF or DWG, very often Microstation SE does not answer. Is this due to some limitation in the size of importable files or to some error in the DXF/DWG ? I encounter problem with a file about 3 MB. The reading of the DXF or DWG is very fast, but after having pressed the "Open" button, Microstation does not answer. Thanks for any help.
